I was just doing a defrag on my wife's PC (Windows XP Pro) and all the data in My Documents is about 22.0 Gigs.

After I ran defrag twice, I keep getting a message when it's over saying 18.2 Gigs of the data in My Documents cannot be defragged.

Anybody have any idea what's going on with this?
I've never seen this problem before.

It might be that the data is too big to be copied to the available free space on the drive so cant be defragmented.
To get around this, copy the data off, defrag the drive and copy it back on.

That wouldn't be it. The drive is only 25% full.

I'm thinkin there's something going on with spyware since I just found that her Spybot Search and Destroy has been hidden on her machine so you can't use it.

I'm re-installing that now.

Yes, I've got Acronis Disk Director that I'm going to dfrag with...and, no I don't have a protected section where Acronis True Image backs up to.

I always put my backup files on other hard drives, no on the C drive.
