Defective monitor out of box?

I just bought a BenQ GW2765HT from b&hphoto. It arrived today, I hooked it up all excited to hdmi. Then as soon as I turn on monitor, I see this huge purple splotch on screen.. Here's couple images: https://imgur.com/a/SOhDV

Is that dead pixels?? I only notice it on black background.. Seeing it right now on hardforum black background.

Will I have to return it? Is b&hphoto good with returns?

You mean that huge purple blob? That shows up all the time on a dark background? Monitor is fucked, send it back.
