Purchased this unit a week ago and realized there appears to be a slanted partition at the TOP EDGE of the LCD.

The top portion is brighter than the rest of the LCD. Is it a LCD coating that's improperly aligned? Or is it a temporary protective shipping sticker that was not removed prior to LCD installation??

Can someone familiar with LCD manufacturing please let me know?

Now my question is, which partition is the correct one? The brighter partition or the dimmer one?
