So I save a lot of screenshots in MS-Paint so I don't have to wait for Photoshop to open.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to change it to save as .PNG as default instead of .BMP

It's one of those small annoyances that could be nice to have changed.

Neat little program there, although it does take up 10mb RAM, I like minimalism.

I will use this till I can find a way to make paint default to PNG.

Paint is an extremely limited program and I doubt you'll find a way to change the format. If you don't like loading times, but want the ability to save in different formats I'd suggest IrfanView. I've used it for quite a while and it's great for exactly the type of thing you mention as well as some limited image editing (cropping, switching formats, et al).

Hope that helps.

Another vote for Infranview, but its hard to beat the universal availability of mspaint.
