This is going to sound antiquated to everyone here I'm sure... but...

I have a Compaq Deskpro EN (PIII - 1ghz, 512 Meg ram, 815 Chipset) And I'm trying to install a Radeon 9000 on it. I got everything configured correctly, drives installed, and up and running yesterday, lef it on to loop 3dmark2001 over night (stress test it) and it seemed fine. Went to reboot after updating everything, and the machine gave me an error that the coms battery was dying. OK, go to walmart, slap a new one in, and blamo... it won't get past the post screen. Basically it infinate loops from deteching memmory, nails error 162 (dead battery) and reboots continous.

I removed the video card (back to onboard graphics) and it boots fine (tho it lot all CMOS info) Can anyone help me or give me ideas? All it needs to do is play WOW and surf the net. (person who owns it got to LVL 32 with just onboard GFX and 256 megs of RAM!!!   )

Oh, yeah, I got it INTO the game to test everything before looping 3dmark2001 to test it, and it's up and running right now with the origonal config.
