I currently have my system rigged with a front intake fan, rear exhause, top blow hole. 2 intake fans blowing onto the PCI slots (all 80mm)

My heatsink is a thermaltake 9 with the duct mode, with a UFO fan(92mm) on it.

The ambient room temp is 28c and my CPU temp is 46c. Besides going to water cooling what else can I do to get my CPU temp lower?

Would changing the intake to a 120mm fan, the exhaust to 2 80mm fans, and the blow up to 120mm fan make a difference?

Btw... the 46c is with the top off, mb side off, and the pci slot side tilted off so the fans are still blowing a little into the case.

With all sides on and the a/c off here (in So Cal) my PC shuts down with the overheating siren.

CPU is Athlon XP 2600 currently not oc'd...

I really wouldn't worry about it. CPU temperature readings are anything but accurate. As long as your system is stable, go with it.

I can't currently overclock it past 168 fsb... With the air off here it shuts off with the overheating alarm...Not to stable :)

what kind of heatsinker do you use? my cpu is running and i baught a new hs which should bring it down. (im replacing a stock amd one)
