Hey guys, a friend of mine finally upgraded the motherboard in his mATX Desktop PC. In exchange for installing the machine he gave me his old Motherboard. It is an Abit NV7m motherboard. Quite a nice board back in the day when I bought the thing. Used hand-me down parts for the thing other than the motherboard and case. Anyway, I had an extra stick of PC 2100 sitting in a desk drawer in an ESD bag plus a mATX case I bought for a project that never bore fruit. So now I'm going to have a complete computer sans Optical drive...and now I'm wondering what the Hell to do with it? Any suggestions? The case is half-height so turning it into an HTPC is kind of out of the question, but any other suggestions would be great.

go get a fatty drive and turn it into a file server for your apps/music/movies, etc...
sounds like a perfect use for it.
too slow to do much besides serve up files I would think.

Biggest reason I am building one of my own is to house image files of
all the pc's I routinely work on to avoid the 3-4 hour Xp install/config process.
Think of how much time it would just save you on your own pc.
Practice your modding skills on the case you it serves more than files.
I hated my 1st mods...practice makes perfect.
