Decision between two laptops

This difference is much :) Windows 8 is new version and have lot of new features.
 
If your not going to be storeing a ton of video files or games on this laptop aany laptop with and intel dual core or amd quad core will be in this price range look around newegg.com as well. the bigest thing i can tell you is grab a solid state dive (ssd) and drop it in and it will be so much faster and totaly worth it. also watch the screen resolutions some of these cheaper laptops come with terrible displays.
 
If I were to pick between the two, I would go with the Asus because it is lighter and acer laptops have terrible reputation in build quality and durability.

If you do decided to get either of those, make sure you get another ram so the memory would run in dual channel which the integrated gpu hugely benefits in performanc.

You could also upgrade the laptop to.a quad core for cheap(cost $60 on eBay) and it has faster gpu.
