I'm a hobbyist musician (guitar/vocals primarily) and currently record my instruments via a creative fatality xfi with the drive bay which has 1/4" jacks. I will be moving to a new PC soon, and it does not have PCI slots (PCI Express only). I'm seeking advice on how to replace / upgrade what I had used to something which would work well in the new system.

Needs:
Good ASIO driver support for recording in my DAW
Output to powered PC speakers (reasonably good klipsch set)
Good sound output quality for music and gaming
PCI-E or USB
Wants:
1/4" input jack(s) in an easily accessible location. I can of course convert the jack size itself if necessary, and could of course crawl behind the PC to swap guitar and mic. I would prefer to avoid these hassles.

Cost is not that much of a concern, nor is using two separate products if there isn't a current one which does it all well. For example, using a Xonar for playback and an EMU or M-Audio card for dedicated recording. Basically, I don't see card kits with the same I/O box setup and feature sets as the older Creative lines, which actually worked quite well for my needs.

Recommendations or thoughts?
