Before we begin, I wouldn't dare type this post on my beloved U3011. She's been good to me, I love her.

My setup is currently a U3011 1600p and an Asus 26" 1080p monitor I use for all the side stuff, browsing apps etc while I game on the U3011. It looks something like this:

While I love 16:10, part of me wants to go back to 16:9 for stream/recording purposes and a few other reasons. Also, I'm getting tired of having two different sized monitors. Another problem I run into, is how to set up these monitors on my L shaped Ikea Galant desk. I used to have the larger monitor in the middle, but got tired of sitting in the corner, eventually I'll try moving both to the long side of the desk, but it will put me closer to the monitors which I'm worried about.

Here's how it looked with it in the middle and the other monitor raised up, but I'm pretty sure I remember having sore forearms gaming on the curve of the desk:

I'm looking for an upgrade or side grade of a larger than 1080p monitor, preferably 16:9, or possibly two. I'm going to sell the U3011 to help pay for the change. I currently game on a GTX680 but will most likely upgrade to a 900series gpu at some point soon.

What suggestions do you guys have for a new monitor setup that doesn't break the bank, I can't drop 1k on a single monitor but with the sale of the U3011 I can get up to that point. My current thought is that I should grab either two 27inch, a 4k, or go the simple route and add two 20" in portrait to the side of the U3011.

Two 27 inch 1440p monitors would be the best option, please check out: This thread

The AOC Q2770pqu off that list currently goes for $500 off of amazon (assuming you're in the US) and would be an excellent upgrade to both of your current monitors.

If you happen to be strapped for space (I also own an Ikea Galant) then you may want to opt for one of these verticle stands: http://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Stand...d=1411249066&sr=1-8&keywords=monitor+stand+27

Thanks for the 1440p recommendation, I'll take a look at those!

I'll Probably keep them side-by-side though, not sure I could tolerate an over/under stand.

I use a Filco full size with cherry reds with White Filco Ninja keys so it looks blank from several angles. Any side keyboards are either a Filco Tenkeyless with blues or the clear plastic cover for the white board lol.
