I have a question, what fan would be the best cooler for a p4 2.6c OC'ed to 2.9 (i wanna go farther i dont think my stock fan can take it tho) and its idling at 43 celcius rite now. I want to probably keep it under 25 bux if at all possible, the best fan for the price and performance?

I would have to say SP94 and a 92mm Tornado....and overclock till theres no tomorrow...............

whats hte official name of sp-94? i searched newegg and didnt see it.. or maybe im blind.... (oh yes my limit is 25 bux thats all i got)

Well i researched some, give me ur input on these fans/heatsinks and tell me which one is the best or if none are good anuff to make a difference from what i already have (stock)

1. Vantec AeroFlow VP4-C7040 For Intel P4 478 -RETAIL

2. Thermaltake P4 Spark 7+ (Xaser Edition) Highest Performance Copper CPU Cooler, w/ Temp.Controler

3. ZALMAN CNPS5700D-CU Pure Copper CPU Cooler

4. ZALMAN CNPS6500B-AlCu CPU Cooler

Those are my choices, if i missed any good ones under ~25-30 (im a bit flexible) Lemme know. Thanks

Fry's has Zalman 7000's for $29.99. I don't know however if there are Fry's stores in your area. However you can check Frys's online site which I think is http://www.frysoutpost.com

Ahh, i will check that out. My friend on mIRC though was t elling me that the Zalman's way a ton. Is this true? I move my case alot because i lan. So plz let me know :) (i dont think the 7000 will fit in my computer, theres a onboard fan on the motherboard cooling something else, presumably the chipset, so yea...)

They do weigh quite a bit. I picked one up one time and it was pretty heavy. Although the AeroCool Limited Edition 102? Or something weights ALOT more.

If you are only overclocking to 2.9 just stick with the stock heatsink and save your money. The stock Heatsink will do just fine.

i dont want to stop at 2.9 overclock, i wanna get more out of it cuz i know i can, its just a matter of heat (no i will prolly never get more than 35 bux to spend on it cuz im paying for my insurance and car payments and im in high school, only so much $$ for me.

In that case, then buy the Zalman 7000A alcu model and overclock to the max. I have one running my 2.8c at 3.5 ghz.

Zalman 7000AlCu (just as good as the Cu and within Intels weight specs) or a Thermalright SP-94 (bolts thru motherboard) with your choice of fan..
