Hey all,

Last Friday I left for the weekend, leaving my computer on like I always do. On returning early Monday morning, I attempted to open a directory on one of my HD's and my computer froze. "No problem" I thought, hit reset on my case, only to find CHKDSK reporting tonnnns of errors on my HD. It had found several hundred "File Record segment xx is unreadable" problems. I let it run all night, and when I returned windows was waiting for my login password. I wanted to check to make sure the HD was still working (This was not my main windows HD) so I opened it up in explorer, and most files were still there, but a few directories were gone. I checked the drive's freespace, and it was the same as before the errors. Does that mean I could potentially recover these lost directories? Or are they toast? What generally cause's the "File Record segment xx is unreadable" errors? It is a 40GB model DeathStar drive, I have another DeathStar that had to be RMA'd about a year ago. Thanks for any help you guys can think of, I appreciate it,

Ðave :D
