Who is the fucking sadistic asshole that designed the Infinity?

I'm saying this because it's probably one of the best air cooling based heatsinks on the market. At the same time though, it's the most frustrating cooling device i've ever witnessed and had the "pleasure" to work with. Sure it's big and it's something to be expected when trying to cool this much, but wtf were you thinking when you designed the mounting mechanism. Sure, you could argue that this is the same mounting mechanism that Intel uses. BUT YOUR FUCKING HEATSINK IS 500TIMES BIGGER! SHARP FINS! NO SPACE ON ANY MOBO TO WORK COMFORTABLE WITH!

Ok, enough venting and enough blood om my fingers, enough almost destroying my whole computer by swearing to throw the thing in the dumpster. Enough thinking about taking a shotgun and seeing just how much this Infinity cooler can withstand.
Just needed to vent.

It's okay *pats you on the back*.

Most of the big coolers aren't exactly pleasure to work with, but it should not cut you. Ever. That just isn't good.

My Ultra 120 had some sharp edges, but nothing severe like what you are talking about.

I understand needing to vent, maybe some others will as well.

lol my friend is using a Infinity with a Big Typhoon mount. Maybe you can find one on ebay for like $10. Much much better.

I beleive it was the Ninja I bought, had the adhesive backing for the backplate on the mobo. I could not get that damn thing off! I got soo frustrated and stuck a butter knoife in there and it was bending the damn knife. I eventually got it off after scraping a few traces. I was too mad anyway and just threw the cooler/mobo away. I'll stick with Zalman.

lol i saw some blood coming out trying to install my thermalright ultra also... hope that doesnt reduce cooling!

I like watching people with anger management problems get super frustrated and break expensive things. Also, I feel your pain *looks at the cuts on his hand*

A hair dryers work wonders.

there;s a piece of my meat still stuck between one of the fins on my ultra 120.

my hands have been cut on one or more zalman 7000s, a 9700, a thermaltake POS, and my thermalright ultra 120 extreme. actually two completely different times on the 9700. yay big metal finned heat sinks.

maybe that's why their heatsinks carry the 'scythe' name?... because of their sharpness...

maybe you could take your heatsink out into a field and cut down some corn stalks or mow the grass?

i had cuts when installed my ninja, but it only cut through the first layers and never drew blood. I love having white lines down my hands, makes me feel like im working.

arictic freezer 7 pro = $19.99, not heavy, cools great, mounts in seconds(very very easy), keeps my 3.2Ghz C2D @ 32/47.
