The following is a support rma request I sent out to PcP&C today. I have posted this to show much this company has fallen from grace...
Dear PCP&C:
"
In 2009 I had my original 1KW SR sent back for rma because it was shutting down under load. While I was waiting for the replacement psu I purchased a Corsair HX1000 and put the rma in my closet for a year until i needed it. So in 2010 I built another pc with an Asus Crosshair IV MB + 1090T CPU (not OC'd), few hard drives, and an Ati 5850 with the PPC 1KW PSU. No issues until a couple months ago I replace the video cards with two ATI XFX 6970 cards. Then last week I start a new game, deus EX and in Crossfire mode (only Xfire mode) the system started freezing up withing 10-30 min of gameplay. Suspected the PSU and got an Corsair AX-1200 and its been completely stable. Not sure if the warranty still applies for RMA products. I would think that this psu could have handled two gpu's, motherboard cpu, 4x2gb ram, 2 ssds, 3 hard drives, and a few fans? Thing is I invested in what I thought was quality componentry and had it fail me twice. Two bad psu's in row is not good. Please reply to discuss options. Thank you. "
Some prehistory. I started off with the 850 SSI model I bought a held onto for a year. Stupid me I didn't realize that 200 watts of this psu was reserved for use with another cpu for dual cpu server boards. So most likely it was going to help me do SLI at time I had purchased this about like 6-8 years ago. So PCP&C gave me a discount on their 1KW model from their factor store and wasn't cheap either. Shortly there after I went SLI and had problems with my system crashing down hard during gaming. So I got a HX1000 and all was golden. PCP&C sent me an rma and I put that in my closet. Later I got the itch to build another machine and as I described above had similar issues all over again. All this leads me to believe that their name brand is over rated and its no wonder they got bought out by OCZ. Though if anyone ever read the HardOcp review from a few years ago you wouldn't be surprised...
