...I have purchased an AN9 32X Fatal1ty and have been very very dissatisfied with 1) the RMA service you offer and 2) technical support. Neither of which I have been able to contact reliably.

I contacted the RMA dept. about my motherboard not arriving with an AudioMAX card. I have asked NUMEROUS times where I can purchase one with a stark and STUPID, "I don't know." I was also contacted by "Dino" in RMA stating he has found "A card" and would be "Shipping it off on Monday." I have not been able to contact him for 2 weeks and have seen NO CARD.

I spent so much money on this motherboard to make a very nice upgraded system and now I cant even play freaking SOUND?!?! This is a BASIC function of the modern computer!

All of my efforts to contact TECH SUPPORT have been met with THREE voicemails and no callbacks. I would like to know the compatibility between AudioMAX cards with my board because, you guys dont seem to actually SELL anything new, just crap thats been leftover in your "webstore."

You have 6....6 AudioMAX cards, none of which are even for newer motherboards (will the AN8 card work on my AN9? I DONT KNOW! I CANT CONTACT YOU GUYS TO FIND OUT!)

What the hell happened to the good ol' days of A-bit BE-6's, BP-6's, creme of the crop overclocking boards? I can't even understand how Fatal1ty allows his name to be associated with these products, you guys must write him a HUGE check or something.

Anyways, Im done with my rant. Obviously I LIKE your products, otherwise I would have returned this long ago. Please, just send me a damn AudioMAX card or at LEAST tell me if the AAX8/AN8 cards will work in my board.

Sincerely,

Anthony

fuck. abit.

Where did you buy the motherboard? I would contact the vendor if the item did not arrive with all the contents, unless you bought this used or open box. Not that I'm defending Abit's lack of support.

purchased it from Newegg as a clearance item but it did NOT state anywhere on the page that it was "open box" so it should come with a full warranty. Hell, it came with all the damn contents+box, just no card.

Newegg also has no more of this board.

I literally just 10 minutes ago bought an M2N32-SLi and got a return shipping label to send this board back to newegg. I'm done with all that bullshit

ABIT starting going downhill a while ago, and apparently getting bought hasn't helped them any.

abit will no longer send us motherboards because they are not worthy of our enthusiast testing prodcedures.

I use to love abit mobos back when I bought my IC7-G Max 2 but now it seems that quality and support have both gone downhill from there I have an Asus mobo now and I couldn't be happier.

They were on a bit of a roll with the AB9 QuadGT and IP35-PRO, but their failure to put out anything competitive in the AMD market proves they're just a one trick pony. Very disappointing.

AX78 is a very good mobo.
They have a no. of new mATX mobos coming out for AM2+ but the AMD enthusiast market has been pretty dead upto now due to AMD's lacklustre CPUs compared to Intel Core 2.

& I've already explained days ago to vile1SoC on the abit USA forum about compatability with other AudioMax cards (& that his first point of complaint should be his vendor).

Even the AN9 32X Fatality.... as you guys reviewed it earned a "Editor's Choice"

This is the first motherboard we have seen from abit in quite a while that lived up to our overall standards. It seems to us that the Fatal1ty AN9 32X will live up to many overclockers and gamers stringent needs. The abit Fatal1ty AN9 32X is a great product from abit that deserves some recognition. Hopefully this is just a sign of what is to come from abit in the near future.

And the 9850 has arrived, with its 125W TDP. Where is the full ATX and all alimunium capacitor boards based on 790FX, with its full Crossfire support? Does Abit have it ready or do we have to wait the usual six months after every other brand?

Huh, Abit has no interest in any AMD board that isn't an HTPC board. Those all use weak PWM's and those towering old caps. Not strong enough for the high TDP Phenoms just released. Kind of a bummer there as you can't even OC with a second-rate board. :(

Yeah well, All you told me was what chips each board use. I still got a resounding "I dont know" on whether it's compatible or not... which would not even be a question if Abit wasn't such a retarded company and actually SOLD parts for their boards, NOT leftover crap from their RMA dept.

This is all a moot point, the damn board died yesterday anyways after 2 days of running.

Already got the shipping label to send this POS back. Error code keeps coming up as C1 on the Diag. code display which is something like "CPU Pwer assert."

Asus, don't fail me now...

Better to ditch it for a company that actually supports the product in a satisfactory manner anyways dude. If they don't respond to e-mails or answer the phone they are just giving you a big middle finger. Good luck on the Asus and with that Opty :)

no, I told you a bit more than that.
You shouldn't need parts on a new mobo though which is why people keep telling you to talk to your vendor.

no, it's a RAM error (section 5.1 in the manual).
Set your RAM voltage properly?

when there is a market demand worth the investment ..
& hopefully a better sb).

that'll be why the AX78 runs them then ...
I person has already measured pulling 170W through the PWM of an AX78 OK.

There is a market demand for a better AM2+ board, especially now that B3 Phenoms are out. People will try to OC them, and this is one place where Abit has often done well, making a good solid enthusiast board. Asus has two 790FX models, as do Gigabyte, DFI, and MSI, not to mention over half a dozen lesser-known brands like Jetway (who look like they're trying to gain in the market). There is a demand, or these other tier makers wouldn't be making the effort. People will try to OC them, and this is one place where Abit has often done well, making a good solid enthusiast board. I like the way Abit sets up their boards, and it'd be nice to see what its crafty engineers could make of the 790FX... if there are any crafty engineers left at Abit.

Update on my situation.

Board randomly would not save my BIOS settings, and kept throwing horrible beeps and alarms at me because there was no fan plugged in (water cooling).

After that, the board just simply refused to boot PAST the POST. Anything past that and it would either fail loading into the windows setup utility or just crash and reboot.

Shortly after that (yesterday), Abit attempted to call me at work, and then sent an email asking what they could do to assist me.
My response was short, kurt, and to the point:

Well the first problem was that it did not ship with an AudioMAX card. Second problem was it did not ship with an IO Backshield. Third problem is that no matter who i spoke to at abit, no one knew or knew anyone else that knew, how to purchase one (there were NONE in your webstore). Then you guys disappeared after saying you would ship it, and 2 weeks went by with no word or card seen.

And then the motherboard died yesterday. I've already replaced it with an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe and am very pleased with it.
The Abit board will be returned to newegg tomorrow.

BTW- I can't talk to my vendor about it because my vendor (newegg) is out of stock and it is a deactivated item.

Edit: after submitting this post, i got an email from them stating:

Dear Valued Customer,

I will foward this information to the RMA department and i will tell them ship the accesories you need as soon as possible. I will e-mail you later this afternoon with the updates.Thank you and have a good day.

obviously they also cannot read that Im shipping this POS board back. Oh well, anyone want an AN9 HD AudioMAX card? cuz if you need one I got one...since abit sure as hell doesnt ;)
