Dead x800xt need to replace

Alright after a Maze4-GPU block leak problem, my x800xt is dead :)sob:). Anyway now its time to replace it, im going to go PCI-E because I really dont want to change motherboards until ATI-Crossfire is available (atleast so i can compare to sli). So it has to be AGP. Now being the resourceful person I am ive already narrowed it down to, two cards which are available at me to good pricing. Heres the problem their the same price and im torn

ATI X850XT (built by ati)
BFG 6800GT OC

.now heres what ill be running them in

Venice 3000+ @ 2.7-2.8 (still tweaking)
MSI K8N Neo 2 Plat
2x512mb OCZ Rev 2 Plat or 2 x 512mb kingmax pc4000 (depends if that damn ocz ever gets here)
OCZ Modstream 520watt
im sure the rest doesnt matter.

Now I will be overclocking and I will be watercooling and theres even a pretty damn good chance im going to be volt-modding too.

I can get either one for $450cdn, so price is not an issue. Im leaning towards the 850xt because I loved my previous card and benchmarks seem to sway in its favour. But i am an objective person and will listen to all arguments.

Do you still have the original heatsink to put on it so you could RMA it?
 
I would say go with the X850XT, the 6800GT is good, but the X850XT out performs it, it should really be a no brainer. If you check out the reviews, if it was between the X850XT and the 6800U then maybe go with the 6800U if you felt that you really needed SM3.0, but between the 6800GT and X850XT, hands down the X850XT. If you check this out, the X850XT is on top except for Doom3. That should really make the decision as easy as possible.

Im one of those sticklers about RMAing, it was my fault, or more like the Maze4's fault. But either way its not sapphires responsibilty. So ill eat the money, its not pleasent but sh*t happens.
 
Everything i'v read says August for CrossFire and that the boards are done however ATI is still working on Master Cards and Drivers. Personally i'd get an X700 or something equally crappy and suck it up for awhile. At least you can have fun and not care if you destroy the card while playing around with it.

To each his own...

If your willing to spend the money, I'd say the x850 is the faster card. But the 6800GT will probobly overclock to Ultra speeds and will be cheaper so you could save money for the next gen ATI or Nvidia.

450CND is only 372USD. Pricewatch's lowest price for an x850xt is 389(AGP) and 439(PCIe)

$450cdn is my price. There will not be a .01c difference between costs. Well thats not entirely true I will have to buy a new waterblock if I go nvidia. But im more interested in performance than the $50 cost of a waterblock.
 
Go for the X850XT. If it was a 6800 Ultra, I would suggest going with that, but since its a 6800 GT OC, it won't OC as much as an Ultra would because its already OC'ed.

Thats odd, i'm normally one to advertise an ATi card over an Nvidia card... But for sure, go for the X850XT, definately worth $450.

wow honestly I was expecting alot mroe votes for the 6800gt, I remember when i got my first x800xt there definitly seemed to be a nvidia fan club building here. Well thank you for your help, went to go pick it up today, only to find they didnt have one on hand. So my x850xt will be here tuesday. Just found it its also a built by ati card, so im pretty happy all around.
