Yeah they made like 4 of them.I had to look up the box art so I could remember the game. I never played it but remember the title.
The first one was the first great game released on the Xbox 360 that wasn't a multiplatform title, in my opinion. Gears of War came out 3 months after Dead Rising, and Dead Rising wasn't released to other platforms until 10 years later. I played the shit out of it. I loved the homage to the original Dawn of the Dead, and the amount of zombies on screen at once was revolutionary for the time. It was the first game Capcom made on the MT Framework engine, if I'm not mistaken.I had to look up the box art so I could remember the game. I never played it but remember the title.
I never got around to playing the other 3, oddly enough. I've heard the second one is good, but 3 & 4 are supposed to be terrible. There is also one side game that replaces the protagonist from the second game with Frank West from the first game.Yeah they made like 4 of them.
DR4 gets a lot of hate but I bought it for $1.50 a year or 2 ago and had major fun with it except for the controls. The game basically has no rules and gives you wild freedom with making weapons from the get go, with no time limit shit. The first one was the first great game released on the Xbox 360 that wasn't a multiplatform title, in my opinion. Sounds like I wouldn't like it, in that case.DR4 gets a lot of hate but I bought it for $1.50 a year or 2 ago and had major fun with it except for the controls. The game basically has no rules and gives you wild freedom with making weapons from the get go, with no time limit shit.
It's just a massive zombie killing sandbox with mindless fun.
It's not as structured as say the first Dying Light or even the first Dead Island, but what it lacks in conformity, it sure makes up for it with weapon development.Sounds like I wouldn't like it, in that case.
Came out in August 2006I haven't been this hyped for a game yet this year, and last year it was the RE 4 remake! I absolutely loved this game way back in 2005 or 6? I've played some of the newer ones but none of them hit like this one. It looks incredible, I can't wait to hit zombies with golf balls.
That sounds right, I played it on Xbox 360, and it was the first "High Definition" game I played on a tube tv that was 1080p lol. I remember people complaining on standard def tv's not being able to see the text.Came out in August 2006![]()
I remember that, too. I played the game on a 55" 1080p DLP.That sounds right, I played it on Xbox 360, and it was the first "High Definition" game I played on a tube tv that was 1080p lol. I remember people complaining on standard def tv's not being able to see the text.
Oops if that's the case - yours wouldn't play for me here due to the age restriction. Ah well.I think I already posted this.
Sorry about that, better have your parents sign a permission slip and login in for you next time.Oops if that's the case - yours wouldn't play for me here due to the age restriction. Ah well.
Some new details; apparently this isn't just a graphical update.

Can watch the vid for more info, but the remaster supposedly includes:
-New lighting, details & props
-Zombie models and beta content that never made it into the original full release
-Missing features that were cut from the original game (e.g. police zombies shoot their guns as they stumble around)
Other/gameplay enhancements:
-Interface overhaul
-Can finally walk while aiming gun
-Carrying large objects will shield you from gunfire
-Redesigned save system
-Ability to fast forward time
Not loving how you'll have to buy the deluxe bundle to get the OG Frank model, but the other additions sound like nice QoL improvements (though I wonder how they'll affect the difficulty).
No, the time limit is the whole point of the game. They added auto saves, though, so you don't need to run back to the safe room every time you want to save the game. No details on how that works yet, as far as I know, but I imagine it will save any time you get key story points, find survivors, etc.Gears of War and this game was the reason I finally got a 360 back in the day...played at a crisp 720P resolution on top of it (couldn't afford one of those fancy 1080P TV's)
Any mention of getting rid of the 72 hour time limit? I know this was one of the core mechanics of the game, replaying it multiple times, and carrying over progress...but would really prefer to play without the limit. Rather play on my own time as I dont get much time these days to game and being crunched within a window with the expectation that you might do a few play thru's to level up....just isn't fun anymore for me.

TL;DW:
+/-Voice actors have been completely recast
+/-Gameplay changes make the game significantly easier, but also less frustrating
+Solid graphical upgrade all around, although some character models are significantly different and/or older
+Game performs well despite the graphical uplift and preview build status
+Improved companion AI means they're no longer dumb as bricks when rescuing them (I would call this an overall positive even if it makes the game easier, since most actual people in this situation would probably not run head-first into a throng of zombies)
+Improved controls
-Early game XP (while taking photos etc.) comes much easier, removing much of the challenge
-Boss fights against psychopaths are unbalanced to the point of being trivially easy
-Some content and dialogue has been cut or watered down for "modern audiences"
All of this is based on the current build and is subject to change.
It's a little bit of a bummer, but there's no way I'm not buying it. I'm hoping they tune the difficulty a bit, that's my only concern.Been posting about the censorship in Soapbox. The more that comes out about this, the less I am interested in it. I'll stick with the original.
