So what are your opinions on this game? I want to hear what everyone thinks.

Compare it to Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead and the original Dead Rising.

Here is some gameplay footage I took at PAX for you all to see. Might help your argument or decision.

Well this footage doesn't exactly have me peeing my pants with anticipation. All I see is some mindless zombie slaughtering without much of a fight from the enemies. Not that I and others don't appreciate the footage you brought us. It just doesn't look too exciting from what I can see in this video. Not sure when this game comes out, but if it plans on launching in 2011, it will probably be lost in the deck of outstanding games that are due out.

I hope you had a great time at pax. Would have loved to check out duke, the old republic, guild wars 2 ect.

This game drops this month sometime. 28th comes to mind.

If I could have recorded Duke, SW:TOR and GW2 I would have so fast.. The keynotes I went to, they wouldn't let me record either. I have some footage of Bungies keynote. But Not a huge amount of juicy.

But yea this game was pretty much mindless zombie killing. Nothing I seen was to intense at all. 3D sucked terribly and gave me a massive head ache.

No.. It will be out on September 28th 2010. Just want to know what everyone thinks from the trailers/video etc.

Will you be buying day one or bargain bin?

Most of the hard hitting releases this month are coming out within a week of each other. Now I gotta choose between this, Civ V, Front Mission Evolved, and Darksiders. I'm giving the nod to Dead Rising 2 and Civilization V though.

With all the wacky things you can do to zombies in this game I'm sure I can keep coming back to it even after I clear it. Not to mention Coop. Yeah I'm looking forward to this more than Front Mission Evolved and Darksiders. Guess time will tell if that feeling was the right one though.

I'm looking forward to it but with all the games coming out in the near future this may be one I wait until the first of the year to play.

I had fun with the first one and since it's $40 on Steam versus $60 on console I might just pick it up from Steam AND since it has online play it'll probably be better to play on PC since there will probably be much less a chance I get stuck playing with some dumb wannabe gangster dipshits or some annoying kids.

and F1 2010.

I'm looking forward to Dead Rising 2 - I don't doubt that it's just mindless zombie killing, but often I just want a brainless (har..) experience. Sometimes the more cerebral games aren't fun after a long day at work (Dead Rising when I'm feeling brain dead, Civ 5 when I'm coherent).

The only thing that reminds me that Dead Rising (1) wasn't JUST mindless zombie killing was that you were on a DAMN tight schedule to do stuff. You hardly had time to just run around and enjoy things! I'VE GOTTA CARRY A PREGNANT WOMAN, NOW I HAVE TO ESCORT SOME IDIOT BROADS, NOW I'VE GOTTA ESCORT SOME JAPANESE DUDES THAT KEEP YELLING "FRAAAAAANK!", AHHHH. A nice, relaxed free-for-all mode would have been nice at least having beat the game it would have been a good unlock.

Well if the game gets some mod support...then and only then will I consider getting the game.

The game's not out until the end of the month, but you can pay $5 on xbox live and play a prequel to the game to get used to the mechanics and weaponry. It will also let you level up to 5 and transfer that information over to your game when you actually purchase the game (on the 360 only obviously). Not bad of a teaser for $5, though it was hard for me to complete it with my 16 month old around the corner.

I'm currently playing the Case 0 game on Xbox and it's fun but now I know I'm definitely getting it from Steam. The Case 0 game, obviously on my Xbox's hard drive, has some (what I consider) heavy loading times when going between areas and it also has noticeable pop-in with items that are fairly close. I think the PC will provide a smoother experience but I'm kinda doubting it gets DLC. :\
