Question for the gurus: I have a Reserator 1 Plus.

I broke it out today (it's not currently installed) and can only get fluid to go through one of the tubes. I've changed out the blocks, blown air through the tubes and all that, but no matter what fluid does not flow through the inlet tube.

So, is the pump broken? I know this may sound like a stupid question I guess but I can't think of anything else that would be causing lack of flow.
 
You get the pump out by unscrewing the bottom from the reserator. The pump will let watter blow through it even if it is turned off. Im not exactly sure what your issue is.
 
Sometimes they dont want to come apart. You need one of those band wrenches or rubber strap wrench deals. The pump can be got at a pet store. Just take the old one with you and find the one that matches. :) Or, you can get it online for about 15 bucks too.
 
well, i unscrewed the bsae.

Took the pump out and dunked it in a tupperware bowl full of water. Water was shooting out of the outlet and when I pulled it out I heard a loud sucking sound.

I then removed both the inlet and outlet barbs and there were no obstructions. I'm going to refill it with water and see if it works now. I didn't see anything that was obstructing anything.

Update: I just reconnected everything and same problem. Flow only goes out, but does not come back. :(

That might be because you're "running your pump dry"... You need more liquid in the loop.

The pump won't force air out... So it needs lots of water BEHIND it to push water out with any force.

Same thing happens to me... If I don't have alot of water in the loop, it won't move water at all...
 
the pump should be at the lowest level of the system and you should have a water reservoir to capture air and to bleed the system

The tank was full when I re-ran it, so that's quite a bit of water. I honestly don't know what could be causing the water to flow only one way. This is pissing me off :mad:
 
I'm not sure how the Zalman waterblocks are made, but maybe one of them is stopped up?...
 
Yeah, I thought of that. I have two of them, and neither work. I even blew compressed air through them with no problem.
 
Have you tried taking a piece of tubing and hooking the pump outlet to the inlet with no blocks in the loop? It almost sounds like you have vapor lock (although I don't know if you can get that in a water line).
 
It sounds to me like your quick disconnect on the inlet side is fubared. Contact Zalman and see about getting a replacement.
