So your gonna think im the dumbest person alive after you hear my story. I have this build thats been with me for 2 months because im too lazy and i had to rma the board. The first time i built it, didnt turn on. So i had to put it apart to do some testing. After finding out the board was dead i rma'd it without testing the other crucial parts that could also be a problem. The board came today and i re-built it again and guess what? Now i think the psu is dead. I havent tested it yet but its lacking that little psu whine that i hear on my other psu's. Ive already checked all the wires( psu-cpu,psu-mobo). I guess my newegg warranty has expired since its been 2 months since i bought this. So my question is, while i rma the psu, can i keep my stuff inside the case or will it be prone to static that way?

You can keep the parts inside the PC as is without issue.

my house is carpeted. Should elevate it with a box or something?
