I just got my new monitor from newegg, like a week ago (viewsonic vp171b-2) sadly it arrived with a dead pixel. by rubbing the screen around where the DP is it seems to make the pixel go back to normal/go away, when i let my finger off of it. will doing this harm my lcd screen? it only seems visible on a darker colored screen, so for gaming thats really annoying expecialy since in CS or hl2:dm most of the maps are dark. now since its able to be "rubbed out" does that mean there is some sort of way to get the pixel to stay normal and not be dead/stuck? or will i forever be fighting this dead pixel by rubbing the area around it to make it go away?
really im wondering is if rubbing the screen (not hard ofcorse) around where the pixel is will harm the screen and will it eventialy go away perminatly?
