Dead pixels and multiple resolutions with SED technology?

I am absolutely sick of dead and stuck pixels (not to mention backlight problems) and will not be buying anymore LCD's until a new technology arrives. Does anyone know if SED technology displays could have dead pixels?

Also will this technology allow us to use clear multiple resolutions like CRTS or a fixed lcd resolution like LCD?

They will have dead pixels, just not as many and the most likely kind will be stuck off, not on.

Res will be fixed, period. There is no escaping scaling there. Anything with predefined pixels is stuck unless you have an insane resolution with even division for each resolution needed.

3200x2400 would satisfy many requirements:

640x480 = 5x5
800x600 = 4x4
1024x768 = 3x3 with small black frame
1600x1200 = 2x2

But good luck finding that res in affordable form, really. And with 7.6 megapixels, you'll get dead ones.

You can't have it all, sadly.

Get a CRT, stronger desk, window-mount air conditioner and another $30 a month for your electricity and you're set.
