I had the power supply in my file server die recently, and it appears as though it killed the mobo, or did it?
I replaced the PSU with Antec Earthwatts 380, and while the power light on the motherboard comes on and stays lit, when I press the power switch, the CPU starts for a split second, and then nothing. I swapped processors between my main rig and the file server to verify that the CPU wasn't damaged (it wasn't), and I've also verified that the RAM is still good. I even tried the mobo in a different case to make sure that there wasn't a problem with the power switch on the case, but no cigar.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to buy a new mobo, but it seems odd that the only thing affected was the power switch connector. Any input before I pull the trigger and order the new board?
