So I've recently started having a problem with my Asus g1s laptop. I don't know what happened but one day it just went into hibernation while I was using it. When I tried to turn it back on it didn't respond at all; no lights came on, the fans weren't spinning, it was completely unresponsive. I was able to unplug the power and take out the battery and let it sit for a few minutes and when I plugged it back in everything worked fine. Fast forward to yesterday. I am not sure what exactly happened, but I was trying to plug in an external microphone but it wouldn't go into the jack on the side of the machine when I looked at the jack part of the plastic surrounding it had broken off and was jammed into the jack...I got a pair of tweezers to try and pull it out, but I ended up dropping the piece and it fell into the hole left behind by where it had broken off and into the machine. I took the bottom of the laptop off so I could get the piece of plastic out (I didn't want it getting into a fan and causing the computer to overheat) and when I put everything back together it's behaving the same way as it was a few weeks ago, only now nothing seems to get it to register anything. I thought maybe while I had the bottom off some small metal shavings (from either a screw or the screwdriver) had possibly fallen into it. I took some canned air and tried to blow the machine out well, but I don't know how much of a difference that would make. Is there anything I can do to get this going again or am I pretty much screwed?
