Dead laptop

hey guys i have a dead HP laptop which i believe was the victim of the nvidias horrid chips. it was actually my brothers. i though it was the HDD but it isnt, when charged and turned on it flashes lights for a sec and then shuts down, no sounds, nothing.

its out of warranty of course. what can be done with it?

What model is it? It might be covered under the HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement.
