I just got my new 2.8C in the mail.....I installed it...it booted up,it said new cpu installed, f1 for configure f2 for something else, I configured it, right before the windows loading screen it said, windows file missing or corrupt.... windows\system or something like that....i was like...ok....restarted, I kept getting bad bios check sums....i put the cd in and it flashed it...I did this 3 times...It's running on my 1.8A fine....no scre ups....

Could this cpu be DOA? I applied AS5(removed thermal pad, that can't be it....

Please someone help me!!!!!!!!11

Reset the bios and put on safe default. Tell me if that helps.

It was in my manual....but not under clear Cmos, it was clr rtc ram...It works now....It just had to reflash the bios and it works....doesn't seem as fast....still need to configure everything.

Thank you so much!

Ok...i'm having some more trouble, whenever i change my settings in my bios, like ram timings, disable raid, etc...i get bad bios checksums....even if I set my cpu config to manual and leave everything as it is.

Don't change ram timings. Just change only whatever you need to change. Like disable raid and set the hard drive boot order. When it gives you checksum error. Does it tell you to press F1 or something to proceed?

I searches for a floppy, than a cd-rom, if the asus cd-rom is in the drive it begins to flash the bios with the original.

take out cd, and make sure hd is set the last. floppy, cd rom and hd. in that order.
