Hey guys, i just got a Creative DDTS-100, and am having some problems linking it up to my PC

Current config:
Megaworks 550
X-fi Xtrememusic
DDTS-100

The way i link it up:
X-fi to ddts-100 external switch (via green/black/orange cable)
megaworks 550 to ddts-100 external switch (via green/black/orange cable)
ddts-100 external switch to ddts-100 output (via green/black/orange cable)

from this setup, i'm able to get sound from my speakers from my PC, but the sound doesnt pass through the decoder at all..
so how do i link it up so that i can use the decoder to decode my sound for videos.

also i'll be connnecting a playstation 3 to it soon..

anyone can advice?

thanks

What you'll want is either an optical/coaxial digital connection to the DDTS (which will allow 2ch stereo for games/mp3 which you can upmix to DD or DTS:Neo6 (recommended!))

That will pass DTS/DD through for movies if your player supports it.

In short, you won't get 5.1 mp3 regular sound through it unless you have a DD/DTS encoding card or you use the passthrough like you described above where the decoder does no work.

Personally, see the card I use in my signature for DTS encoding. Everything from my PC gets reencoded in a 5.1 1.5Mbps DTS-Core stream. Certain programs (winamp) I choose to clone the rear speakers to the front so I get "Pentaphonic" (stereo through 5 speakers)

hmm music wont be a problem, as i only use 2 sates when i'm listening to music..

so to use the ddts-100 to decode 5.1 from my .x264 / DVD videos, i'll have to connect my x-fi to the ddts-100 throuh coxial right?
if i do this, what are the settings that i need to set for my x-fi?

hmm then what do i choose at the ddts-100?

how do i know whether to use dolby PLII or neo6:cinema/dolby digital/dolby digital ex ??
