DDS3 Tape Won't Eject

Does anyone have any tricks on getting a tape out that is stuck?
It's a DDS3 12/24 4mm generic tape drive. It's been giving me intermittant problems over the past few weeks with tapes that won't eject. Usually a reboot of the server will kick it out. This time, no luck. I've tried everything I can think of. Pushing the eject button obviously does nothing, and if I issue an eject command from Backup Exec, it just sits there, "Eject Pending". I really don't want to have to open the drive to get this thing out, because server downtime = unhappy users = pointy haired boss breathing down my neck because he can't surf the web for the next half hour. Any ideas?

I did some searching this weekend and didnt find any solution,
I was hoping for some sort of small hole that would allow you to manipulate the ejector directly (like a CDR)

there was a distinct lack of documentation encountered
and I got sidetracked from the search

Thanks for trying. Looks like I'm gonna have to open it up. Hopefully there is something simple inside to push to release the tension and do a "forced eject" type of thing. I'll let you know how I make out.
