I'v been debating on purchusing this for my 360 and I have never played a DDR game before so I need some input please. ;)

It's a lot of fun as a party game and a solo game. It's also a good cardio depending on how you do it.

I haven't played it on the 360 so I don't know how the new one is, but I would def get it if I had never played it before. I won't buy another DDR game until I invest in a solid metal pad though.

DDR is awesome. Big bang for the buck considering how many hours I've pumped into the game and still not even close to the end.

Lots of satisfaction comes from looking back at how bad you were at the start and how much skill you've developed for the game.

As a side bonus, it's a decent workout.

Arcade mode is the primary content. Quest mode has been added but even though most games have this as their primary content, quest mode for DDR Universe is only for those who are have already cut their teeth on arcade mode because quest mode does not scale its difficulty for you. And the difficulty varies heavily.

I remember an hour-long battle (I had checked the clock prior to starting) with the CPU. The random song rotation kept pounding me with fast songs one after another, and randomly assigned huge bonus modifiers to the CPU everytime I got close to winning. It took 40 minutes to get it to 80% and in one song it'd kick me back down to where I was 20 minutes ago. But I'd been going nonstop for 40 minutes, so I didn't want to give up the progress I'd made, so I was too invested to stop. There's no pausing, just several seconds to catch your breath as the next song loads. You can imagine the satisfaction I had when I finally won after all that. I'm not especially good at the game, it's just that the feeling of victory felt that good.

In a lot of games, you just progress forward to the end. Skills from other games often just carry over and you don't need to get any better to beat one game as opposed to another. Sometimes you're leveling up with experience in a game so a tough fight becomes easy without your skills getting any better. I enjoyed looking back after comboing the whole song and remember that it looked freaking impossible the first time I saw it.

Guitar Hero > DDR

GH at least kind but not teaches you how to play guitar. DDR just teaches you how to dance like a 15 year old with ADHD.

My buddy showed me DDR and now I own 2 of the DDR games and 2 mats. It's a great game to get friends together, a great work out, and if you get hooked and aim to get into the standard levels(or higher) it really becomes a blast.

Also once you start getting really good and you don't have 2 mats, grab another and then you can play on 2 mats by your self and the game gets crazy.

It also has work out modes, endless modes, and will even tell you how many calories you have burned.

DDR > Guitar Hero

You look like an idiot either way... might as well get fit.

They're both fun I think, so I'd recommend it. I don't have it myself, because I'd really rather not get the cheap mats and the expensive ones are ... expensive. But if you are willing to shell out, yea its fun stuff...

Im a hardcore DDR player and id recommend both really. They are two different games but both are rhythm games. In terms of difficulty they are both equally difficult. Depending on your physical condition, DDR would be harder if you have weak legs.

That said id say get Guitar Hero haha! I dont have the DDR game for the 360 yet and thats mostly because I cant use my Ignition pad. Once they come out with an adapter im all over it! But I have heard that the pad which comes with it is not bad, I just want to be able to use my foam pads just because its easier to do doubles when the pads are very very sturdy.
