Well I wanna know what are best memory modules in 512 MB size for a nForce3 250 Ultra chipset mobos (it's for a Shuttle SN98G5) with Winchester CPU.

I'm interested in Brands and types of actual modules but info like wich chips they use is also appriciated. Also where to get them is great info.

Well I know Crusial, Corsair, Mushkin and meny other Companies make good modules but I've burned Myself on Corsair XMS 3500 LL modules and I don't want to experiment. I just want something to be OC-able in My platform and that even on stock setting rocks. So low letancy good preformer that does high FSB's with HTT and does it with stock voltage if posible. I doo not want to use any RAM boosters and 3+ V voltage.

Any expiriance with todays Kingstone modules? I could gett them fo good price. Though sometimes they where good and sometimes they where realy bad specialy for OC-ing. How are day in todays generations?

or... no extra voltage... some tccd hate you if you give it extra voltage but overclock well at stock voltage

That's what I meant. Not lower than stock, just lower than BH-5 :)
 
Well BIOS allows Me to use up to 2,9 V for memory but it's a in Shuttl so I don't want to strain anything to much. Also DDR Booster aint option cause mainboard sports only two memory slots hence Dual DDR channel is more important to me then DDR voltage.

BH 5 is a Winbond chip. Would 512mb Mushkin pc3500 lvl2 bh-5 memory modul be good version of BH 5? Or Kingstone HyperX BH 5? Twinmos?
It needs more voltage and it's older chip then TCCD. Hence I belive I should go for TCCD.

TCCD is a Samsung ship. Well what's good modul that sports TCCD? OCZ TCCD? Corsair Pro? Kingstone HyperX TCCD?

I've just found this also:

TCCD refers to Samsung tccd IC's used on the ram. They overclock real well at lower latencies.

why not get tccd... they do 2-2-2-5 @ ddr400 2.5 or 2.6v

tested it up to 220 mhz 2-2-2-5.. didnt cap 220 tho
does 2-2-2-5 at 2.5v forgot what i needed for 220.. think it was 2.6
 
TCCD rocks. I have to run at 2-3-3-5 at 460mhz, but it works like a champ. Still tweaking, hopefully I'll get more out of it :)

Just found out that ValuRAM series from Kingstone KVR400X64C25/512 comes with Winbond BH 5. It is though rated as CL 2,5 at 2,6V 200 MHz.

i doubt its bh-5, 256 modules of bh-5 was hard enough to get... nevermind 512.. also all thats left for bh-5 chips is the crappy ones nobody wants
could be that new one that the ocz vx uses.. forget the name
make sure it really is bh-5 before you get it.. also usualy bh-5 needs somthing like 3.4v before it really does anything spectacular for you
 
i recomend 2 brands Patriot and Kingston..they are mean overclockers...

Well, he did say it was ValueRam and the rated timings aren't all that great. It could be that it is the last of the crappier pieces of BH 5 making it's way through the market.
 
Damn, I was yesterday at shop and I found out that You should allways take infos You gett over a Phone with a grain of salt.
Also, yesterday memory price here went up
First of it what they told me they have wasn't KVR400X64C25/512 as KVR400X64C3A512 modules hence cass 3 not 2,5. Second When He was looking on chips
He sad they where definitly Winbond chips but they where Mostel chips
For Him two logos are to look a like

Then I went to a other shop of same chain. Best Kingston they have had was with eplide or something like that brand that I've normaly seen only on DDR2 Kingstons. Couldn't take a risk.

Then I went to 2 other shops. Noone have had good DDR 3200 Low latency modules.
Then I went to a shop where I got My Corsair XMS 3500 LL Cass 2 (2 modules of 256MB CMX3500C2) modules wich where good for PIV and Athlon XP chipsets (2-2-2-5-1) but runs 2,5-3-3-8-2 at stock valuse on My SN95G5. I can manualy sett it to 2-3-3-5 but it make no more memory thruput as 5360 MB/s according Sandra and thats also what it does at what SPD setts it on (bit less like 30 mb less).

They didn't have had modules I would like and only 2-2-2-5-1 Modules they have had where to exprencive.
Thye have had though TWINX Cass2 2x 512 MB 3200 and Boss of a Shop told Me like if that doesn't work on cass 2 bring it back.
Imidietly I was thinking that must be slower then My XMS 3500 but price was good and They sad it will work at what it is supposed to work at.
Hence I've got them came home and saw that SPD setts it up on 3-3-3-8
They can also manualy be sett to 2-3-3-5 but work faster on 2-3-3-6 (speed they should be on SPD) and at 2-3-3-6 it makes 5360 MB/s as it does on SPD settings
Acctualy also 30 mb less on SPD settings.

With both modules I need to use memory divider to be able to OC. Just lowering HTT to 4x doesn't help

So now I have 1GB so HL2 swaps less and mashine feels stronger and I have got good price (185 euro wich is like 220 $ US and normaly it costs up to 220 euro like 285 $ US inclusive VAT) but it aint exactly what I was looking for and it aint dooing what I want.

Now I have chance to bring it back and pay like 100 $ US more to gett two 512 MB XMS3200XL 2-2-2-5 Corsair modules. Or I can trade back other 2x 512 Corsair Value Series that I also have and TWINX memory I got yesterday and gett XMS3200XL 2-2-2-5 modules. They I have no memory for a one of My rigs that I doo not use so often but I would have very good memory in mashine that I use most.

I doo not belive that anyone could sucker Me in getting Corsair again :( Though good price and money back if it doesn't work convinced Me I have nothign to loose.

TWINX does work at 2-3-3-6 but only at manual settings. In My PIV mobo of ASUS it will not doo turbo preformance settings and My old 3500 does it.
Though it was just bit more exprencive then Value RAM.
It makes same thruput as XMS 3500 LL C2 and Geil Dragon C2 wich boots with SPD setting memory at 2-3-3-6-1.
Dragon and both XMS modules doo not OC with memory divider 1:1 not even with retarded memory settings (3-3-3-8-2)
Noone guaranties Me that XMS3200XL 2-2-2-5-1 will OC with divider 1:1 or that it will make more then 5360 MB/s (that could be also Sandra or chipset f*ck up though) and I would loose 512 MB or RAM or 100 $ US more :(
Though all reviews of XMS3200XL 2-2-2-5 claim great preformance. They have TCCD chips to but need 2,75 V.

Also stupid thing is that with XMS 3500LL C2 when I choose 2T I get 10% less memory htruput then with 1T in BIOS but when 1 T is activated then Sandra still claims 2T although it preforms better?
Also O.K. It's more or less normal that on DDR400 memory presents simular results from different brands but why does it doo almost same with C3, C2,5 and C2!!?? Disregarding does C2 comes from SPD like on Gail Dragon or is set manualy from default 3 to 2 on TWINX preformance difference is only few MB/s !?
SPD read out for TWINX (in CPUID) is c2 only for 100 MHz on memory thats officialy C2 at 200 MHz? And memory that is supose to be PC3500 C2 does C up to 2700 accoding SPD readout on nForce 3 250 Ultra Shuttle mainboard!?

I was pretty shure Snadras memory nechmark was best part of it but now I'm doubting it's results. Although when I down clock memory or use memory divider I see worse resuts.

Damn chioces :(
