Is the increaced flow top on a DDC only necessary for 1/2" ID tubing? I heard that with 3/8" ID tubing there is no increace in performance.

I'm going with 3/8" ID tubing so I'd like to save the money if it won't benefit me.

Tough to say. There's not a "line" where flowrates can no longer increase in 3/8" ID tubing. But, according to some, 6lpm is about where flowrates start to severely taper off due to restriction. You may see slightly better performance with the AlphaCool top.

The goal should be to get the pump to be as effecient as possible, however. If you have the coin, grab the top. If not, you'll still see some very good performance.

get the top and the res top to go with it.... I have both with a DD fillport going into the res and then my pump in/out going into the top, it is really easy to fill and bleed.

oh and did i say it looks sweet :)

Adidas, why don't you post some pics. I'd love to se it :)

Not sure I need the tiny boost in flow rate for the large increase in $ though.

As for the DDC vs. DDC+, whats the difference in noise, virbation, and performance?

I've heard that the res isn't that great and can suck a lot of air and a 'T line' would be a better and cheaper option, have you found any problems with your res as I'm getting the same pump and plexi top just undecided about the res so far.

It will help performance some, but not as much as if you did the mod your self.
