Anyone know if this is available for purchase anywhere in the US? I've seen TN telling everyone to buy it, but I haven't seen one for sale anywhere that even ships to the states.

You may beable to special order it at a few over priced shops, but I'm not 100% sure. I haven't seen it anywhere in the US as a standard stock item yet.

including shipping it is about $60, might as well ask a machine shop customize one. Probably end up costing less.

You crack me up :p Why is everything overpriced to you because you can't afford it or don't find value in it? If you don't like it then don't buy it.

I have one of these on order from Sharka and I was told that they ordered in about 20 of them for stock. I'm hoping they are here in 2-3 weeks as it seems most of Europe is on vacation about now. :( I think they will also be offering the the complete Laing DDC with the Watercool tops as well. I have no idea what the price is going to be though.

I find a lot of value and I like the part, it's just the shop you recomend all the time is way over priced...........fact of life............... :D I would be willing to bet you could get it cheaper by ordering direct from Germany.................
Sharka is a over priced rip off in my opinion............ There are alot of other shops around that offer a lot more value for your money.

If you were to read some of the threads over at System Cooling and Tech Mods, you'll see that I recomend the top as a mod for the pump if you could find it for a good price here in the US or order it direct, just not if you're getting ripped off buying it.

Just a little side note on not being able to afford something. The price for me is not a factor as I DON'T pay for my water cooling equipment, I'm talking about the average end user price being to high......................

Oh, I didn't realize alphacool ships to the US. It looks like I may be able to get it direct from them for less than $40.

The acrylic top should provide the same flow increase as systemcooling's DDC mod, right?

Yes it will give you G 1/4 threads and the same ingress and outgress for your coolant in the pump as the aforementioned mod. I think they sell for about 20 Euro's, but with the exchange rate you can figure about $25 + bank or credit card fee's for currency exchange + shipping + import duties. Probably looking at least $50 minimum.

FYI as a general rule this applies.............;)

Packages whose declared value is under $200 ($100 if being sent as a gift to someone other than the purchaser) will generally be cleared without any additional paperwork prepared by CBP. However, CBP always reserves the right to require a formal entry for any importation and generally exercises this option if there is something unusual about the importation, or if important documents such as an invoice or bill of sale do not accompany the item.

Many import regulations only apply to goods imported for commercial - business or resale - purposes. For instance, most goods imported for personal use are not subject to quota. The one exception to this is made-to-measure suits from Hong Kong, which are subject to quota restrictions regardless of the use they are imported for. On the other hand, import restrictions that are based on health, safety and protecting endangered species apply across the board.

Most of the time, items for your own personal use will come through duty free. I have yet to pay one cent in duty.

How do you guys figure $40~50 ??

I actually did register and put the item in the cart and calculated the shipping cost.

$20 Euro price+ $29 Euro DHL shipping which is standard for them for oversea shipping comes to roughly $60 US.

That sounds about right + your credit card company usually charges extra to allow you to pay in Euro's. Sometimes the CC companies will include that fee in the transaction though by making you pay at a higher exchange rate than the market value at the time of the funds transfer. Doing a bank transfer, unless it is a lot of moula, generally is the most expensive as many businesses in Germany charge you the bank fee that their bank charges them on top of what your bank charges.

For all the hassle of this I would just as soon pay more and get it from a local USA Dealer and not have to worry about sending it back to Germany to get it warrantied. :D

Wow, I had no idea shipping would be so much, was thinking 10 to 15 Euros. I was at work when I posted earlier and didn't want to go through the ordering process until I got home. I guess I'll just leave it stock for now, and maybe mod it myself later if I'm feeling adventurous.

If Sharka can sell them for under $40 I may consider, but I'm reluctant to buy anything from them. TN's nonstop used-car-salesman-who-works-for-Sharka routine makes me enraged. Even if it's not Sharka's fault, they still make me angry.

Please don't buy anything from them as it won't bother me in the least. I don't work for them, I never have worked for them, and I never will. Nursing pays way better than I could make there even if I owned the place, which I don't. I'm really even sorry I mentioned that you could get them from Sharka. Next time I see you ask where you can get something I will decline to answer even if I know where you can get it. Don't ask questions if you don't want the answers. :(

Added:

I buy all my watercooling stuff from Sharka. I use only Lian-Li cases and I only buy those from JCL Company. I also use exclusively PCP&C power supplies, which I buy from them direct. Anything else I buy out at the Pomona Computer Swapmeet from a few select vendors of whom I have been buying from for over 15 years now. If I can't get it at one of these places I don't buy it. So what do all these places have in common? Impeccable service, reasonable prices, and very helpful friendly staff. Would you feel better that I recommend some place that has few or none of those attributes?
