I have my tubing crossing as well only it is up to down crossing, but there is a reason...The tubing kinks less in my situation. With them cross I have no kinking. :)

As long as they're in orange/orange or yellow/yellow it's fine, but some kinds of memory work/OC better in different slots, and different BIOS revisions tend to effect to overclockability of different slots also...fun stuff...good ol' DFI. :p

Good point man, I honeslty never thought of that, I always wanted more of a point to point design, but I suppose that would cut down on the kinking quite a bit...but I've never had kinking issues...just make sure you've got some good tubing and you'd have to be trying to do some pretty crazy corners for it to kink on you.

Typically that is true if they phase change system is "store bought" and those gasses are fairly popular...but there are still other gasses out there that are fairly efficient, but not for everyone. ;)
 
I love my Storm 21c idle 34c after hours of gaming, 38c when priming on both cores.

Man...I fricken love the looks of the Apogee and Storm blocks...and that pic re-affirms that. How did the Iceberq help out your chipset temps man?

Man, it must be freezing where you live! If my CPU were at 21C it would be leaking from condensation!

I agree that it would have to be VERY cold to achieve a 21C idle temp. Realistically, even with a very efficient watercooling setup I don't think you'd get within a couple degrees of your ambient temp...that's just what comes to mind first though. I 'spose it is possible that you've got the AC cranked and it's like 15C in the room...care to share what your room temp is when/where you're achieving a 21C idle temp Dr.House?
 
Thats whats reported by MBM5, it may be inaccurate but all I have to go on. I have a window air conditioning unit in the room always running around 70 degrees fahrenheit which is just about right for 20 degree celcius room temperature. Its not that implausible, unless you are confusing celcius and farenheit in which case I'd be living in meat locker at subzero temperatures brrrrr.

The Vantec IceberQs are the ram sinks on the videocard, I think you are refering to the Evercool VC-RE chipset fan. Right now at Idle the chipset is reported as 36 degree celcius. It don't pay to much attention to it, doesn't really go past 40 degrees celcius and it's set to go full speed fan at 25 degrees celcius so it's always on.

My PWMIC temps are 32 degrees celcius at idle right now, and also around the 40-45 range during full load. What I did is epoxied the molex connecter on one of those slot coolers with an exhuaset to the end of the bracket where you would screw it down so it becomes inverted and have it plugged into the molex on the motherboard that you are supposed to power for stability, it acts as a passthrough and the exhuast sits right over the PWMIC area heatsinks and blows. I got this idea from someone while reading the DFI-STREET forums, I went the extra step and covered the thing in diamond plate so it looks interesting but still obstructs some view. I'd rather have the PWMIC under 50 degrees then aesthetics and at one point I had it at 70 and set off the MBM5 alarm testing 300x10 at 1.6v+, needless to say I quickly shutdown and decided to curb my enthusiasim even though it was windows stable.

P.S. in case anyone cares video card at overclocked settings is at 34 degrees celcious at idle, and I have never seen it above 40 after gaming, it cools off quickly though when not in use so I'm not sure how how it gets, but I've alt-tabed a few times and never saw it above 40 or always right at 40, as reported by the nvidia driver.

Still...if your room temp is 20C there's no way that your cpu is going to idle at 21C...I'm sorry, it's just not gonna happen...not with standard watercooling. I do know that DFI's sensors tend to report a little low, and it's hard to get a really accurate temperature reading...just wanted to make sure that you don't get to hard-set on the fact that your cpu is idling at 21C...because I really doubt that it is.

I could have sworn that was the Iceberq chipset cooler...but ah well, nice to hear it's working out. I think I'd throw it on there more for looks then anything else. With roughly the same room temp my chipset temp never got any higher then 46C or so...which isn't too bad, and I really didn't find the fan to be as loud as everyone made it out to be.

Good to hear you got the PWM temps in order...it sux when you have to put functionality before asthetics...I rarely would, but you chose the right time.

I have to agree, 1C differential between room temp and block is not possible with H20. The only way to accurately determine temps with H20 is with in-line temp sensors.

the mp-05's are right up there with the best of them ...

people need to remember that with IHS on all blocks are going to run within 2-3C of each other... it's the great equalizer ... even the maze3 competes with the storm...


i like how well the mp-05s are constructed and i like that you can get them in all metal...

also the mp-05 pro at $55 is a very good value...

i myself own a tdx and have owned a apogee...

system cooling has a review of the mp-05 series blocks

It's all based on personal preference I suppose...my entire interior/exterior of my next Lian-Li is going to be painted black though, so it'll match my paintjob and "blend in" a little more.

To each their own.

Not sure if you saw my old setup...but my previous Lian-Li PC-60 had the same paintjob done...it turned out very nice, and I can't wait to get 'er done again...as I've since also started planning a number of other, more creative mods for the case.

I'll be sure to post up pics when I can.
