Is anyone happy with their DD/Swifty new poly reservoirs? I just removed mine from my system and Im not too impressed with its design. I think the top water fillport goes way to far down into the reservoir (its actually goes below the waterline) which makes it hard to get air out and actually allows water to seep through. I also think they need to move it from directly behind the input lines and behind the output side so it would cut down on the water seeping through the fill cap. Ill post some images of what im talking about in a bit.

*edit* here are some pics of what I am talking about...

pic1 here is the front view into the res and youll see how far down the fill port goes (circled blue) and see how the inlines to the res will go directly into the fill port...

Here is the inline side view (blue line is how low th fill port is)...

Here is the output side of the res which is a bit lower than the inline side so it wont pass air which unfortunatly still happens (blue line is how fill port depth)..

Sounds to me like you have the Dangerden one, not the better Swiftech version. There was a big thread on procooling about the difference - Swiftech's has a vent hole in fill port so that the res can be filled higher, and uses an o-ring cap to prevent leaks.

Yeah its the Dangerden verison so that might be just a poblem with theirs. Im going to seal up the fill port this weekend with some silicon and cutout another port on the output side and simply use a rubber stopper as a cap. Hopefully that will let me be able to topoff the water a little batter andstop some of the water seepage caused from having the fillport directly behind the input lines.

Take the fill port cap with you to the hardware store and find an o-ring that fits it. Then drill a hole in the side of the fill port just below where the o-ring sits. :)

Can you post a link to that thread, I haven't seen it and I read the site a few times a week. I must have missed it some where.

Thread.. The first 9 pages are guesses and speculation on what the special Swiftech features might be; the last page or so talks about it.

Thanks for that link. Ill try that drilling a hole in the thread approach first. I had some plumbers putty that worked fine as well but it make too tight a seal and makes removing the cap diffucut. Anways I hope thet make some changes on the next revision of this res. Maybe even make the fillport section 2 drive bays tall so there is less fuss trying to get air out or worries of water leaking through the cap.

qbert95- I designed and manufacture the poly res. FYI you can fill the res to the top with out the hole in the threads. Simply tilt the res several times while filling it in order to "burp" it. Note that the res below was filled to the top using this method

So thats the dangerden? did you put in an o-ring to help prevent leaking? I only ask becuase i recently purchesed the DD res, and wanted to know

EDIT - This is directed towards Lothar

linger- The PG-11 filler cap does require an o-ring to prevent leaking. Your barbs require several raps of Teflon tape or the use of a high quality RTV sealant, RTV is preferred.
