DC Vault

That's whats impressive. We weren't just doing RCN, or just superlink. There's 10 projects on the Vault that we have some green on.

Heading forward, I'll be paying closer attention to the discussion on the vault forum about potential project additions. I would rather not have another big scramble.

yeah during the rcn run i was doing superlink as well.. now im pushing superlink, primegrid, and seti(cuda) now..

You may want to switch to the Seti team that we have in the DC-Vault.
HardOCP not [H]ardOCP
All your points will switch with you.

Now if only someone would only start a thread listing all this kind of information... :D

Wait . . . Didnt someone attempt to do that a few weeks ago? IIRC it didnt get a very warm welcome.

Way to go on the weekend raid guys. Nice going on Superlink as well. I was out of town this weekend so I didnt even see that this project was added. Full steam ahead! :)

ok i switched..

ok im on gimps now with my a64 3200+ though im not sure how long ill do it.. going to try it for a few days see if its really worth the time.. if not ill go back to SoB since i was the only active member on that team..

GIMPS - Team HardOCP
Everyone that had joined GIMPS please leave the old team that has been renamed to team Test and join team HardOCP
Sorry for the inconvenience but there was a problem with the old team name and I had to fix it for it to show up in the DC-Vault.

Update: Thank you everyone. Team conversion complete.

Razor, did you get bored today? I couldn't help but notice you went on a massive account creation spree today. :D

so whats holding back the gimps team from being added to the dc-vault team list?

now if only gpugrid on was on dc-vault.. id probably move to that.. but as for now ill keep running seti..

What is funny is the discussion on the vault forums on GPUgrid. So many people were bitching because they don't have a card capable of running gpugrid, so they didn't want it added. Not [H]ard at all.

Really though, that isn't funny. When it comes down to it, I don't know what gpugrid is researching because I haven't looked into it. However, adding gpu acceleration is great for the science side of distributed computing, and these people are holding it back because they will loose too many imaginary points...It is sad really.

Wow.

Talk about doing this for the wrong reason.

As you said, not [H]ard.

i really cant figure out what they are researching either with gpugrid.. but any ability to show the idea to the masses is the way to go.. and by having it on dc-vault i think thats a good way to show it off..

This is why we need a few more of us getting on there saying that it should be added to counter out the {s}ofties. :D

If you want more info on what exactly they're doing, go to the main page and click on science along the top. As you scroll down that page, there's a bit of a description, and from there, you can see a list on the right with more detailed sections. For example, under publications, you can download a PDF of the paper "Multiscale modelling of permeation through membrane channels using pregenerated molecular dynamics trajectories." I'm probably not going to bother trying to read any of those though since the title alone has already lost me. :D

To make a long story short, they're doing actual research, as well as demonstrating and perfecting the use of GPU's in that research.

Yeah I was running out of things to do. LOL

Well, welcome aboard on them, it was pretty lonely all this time. :D

Right now I'm not devoting a lot of resources to non-Vault projects, just making sure that we're not caught off guard again like when they added GIMPS. Now, had they added FreeHAL or DistrRTgen rather than GIMPS or Superlink, we'd be in a much better place right now. I never did any GIMPS and superlink ran out of work right after I got started on it and I just never checked back.

One thing to watch out for lately on FreeHAL, they keep changing the upload URL so you have to keep going back and aborting the transfers and updating the project. You'll still download work, you'll just keep seeing a dozen completed units that can't upload. And the stats haven't updated in a couple days. Other than that everything is fine, and we're top 100 already. :D

We need to have some points.
I lost mine when I had to recreate the team.
I'm working on some new points for us and I see you and Tr0ach have a good start on some as well.

Yeah I have already a lot of units to send back.
Do you know how I can fix it so they will upload back, or am I just playing the waiting game?

go under transfers tab, hilite all the ones that aren't going, and hit abort transfer. It'll say that you're going to lose the unit, but you don't. Then go over to the projects tab, hilite FreeHAL and hit update. It'll sync up with the project and find out where it wants the units uploaded this time.

I don't know why they keep changing the upload server URL back and forth, but I've been having to do this once or twice a day for a while now. But I've been willing to put up with it since its a CPU-less project so its pretty much free points padding my overall BOINC total.

well im trying to get some results for GIMPS.. but god these things take for ever.. plus im still working on my overclock on my a64 3200+

now up to 2.327 ghz stable.. id like to get to 2.4ghz but seems i have to keep the voltage at around 1.75v.. which with my cooling it fails miserably when stress testing.. :p

currently at 245x9.5 @ 1.648v (its a 3200+ socket 754 clawhammer 130nm) lol lets see how many people freak out about my voltage :p

Thanks, looks like I have pending credit now so it must have worked.

I've been looking over the FreeHal forum trying to figure out if the stats not getting updated thing is being looked at, but the english section of the forum isn't nearly as active as the german side. One thing I did notice of interest is that in early November, when the project went from Alpha to Beta status, all points were zeroed out for EVERYONE because the project admins were unhappy with the credit allocation. Yes, their mistake, but everyone else loses. They'll also zero you out if the server decides you're a "cheater," as in it doesn't believe anyone is really coming with a [H] CPU count. Just a couple things to consider.

And if anyone can tell me how to run more than one FreeHAL unit at a time, I would appreciate it. :p

oh btw i quit running GIMPS.. kept getting stability errors.. so i tried SoB just to see if im really getting errors or if its p95.. and SoB has been running perfectly fine for the last hour now.. doing 2.2 million CEMs/s which is 200k higher then i was getting at 2.2ghz.. not bad for only 137mhz higher click.. now if only i can get to 2.4 or 2.5ghz..

Thats what my screen looks like to. I have been getting a steady stream of units.
and I think you volts are fine if it's not melting through the motherboard. ~kidding.:D

lol max voltage for 130nm is 1.9v :p hard to believe how things have changed in just over 5 years..

I meant whenever I first ran it, not now. I somehow got a unit or two, but that was it.

lol i know.. im just messin with ya.. gave me a reason to screen shot my mess of a boinc client.. even though the one on this computer is insanely worse looking..

My duel core E8400 ran 5 at a time all on its own and that was with GPUGRIDx2 running. Using Boinc 6.6.0

Edit: Just started it again and now it's running 1 at a time.:(

After checking my stats page, it looks like a large portion of my units have been getting Compute Errors, so maybe that isn't the correct course of action.

yeah my avg credits off by a lot though because both of my systems wait til theres 20 prime projects done before it sends them back..

After I did that all my new units have completed and uploaded normally.

After I did that all my new units have completed and uploaded normally.

Then it must be something else. If (or should I say when) it does it again, I'll see if a simple project update and waiting it out works. It should be OK, these things get a 12 day deadline. Its a bit frustrating to have at least 2 days worth of work gone.

Hey, I'd like to enjoy my second place standing (overall pernts) in Primegrid for a few more days... :D Due to the RCN & Superlink raids, I've only turned in about 2 primegrid WUs in the past week or so, and now I'm trying to hit yoyo@home hard, as it's our lowest BOINC Vault score... Into the mowing shed I go!

You know, it's always confused me why all the stat pages show rankings on RAC instead of overall pernts - is it just to keep things interesting? For example, on yoyo, I'm last of 5 team members in overall pernts, but 2nd in RAC. Frankly, all I care about is total pernts, as that means total science, not how much focus I've given a project in the last week or so.
