DC Vault

I don't currently fold for the [H]orde, but my team is not very active, so I'm willing to help with any challenges. I agree that challenges keep things interesting.

sucks being part of a team that doesnt help out.. i did that for a while on another WCG team.. i was about the only one left running it for the team so i left..

btw i think my computers going to explode.. running two seventeen or bust clients.. rc5-72 gpu client.. DIMES and majestic-12 all on 1 system.. :p

I hope you are running those seventeen or Bust clients as a service otherwise you will only get credit form one of the clients.

Does it matter if you run the GUI client on two different machines or just two on the same machine?

Running 2 GUI clients on the same comp just processes the same work package, you end up doing the same work twice and not getting credit for it. You have to install it as a service in order for it to download and run 2 separate packages.

I wonder if we can make 35 in the DC-Vault by Valentines?
We sure have came a long way in a short period of time.

no they arent.. and ive actually kept track of them.. i am getting points for both of them..

i have each one on a different drive.. running totally different folders and changed all the file names..

but ill check again..

site info:
Work rate 785.65 K cEMs/sec

single client info: 3390388.2 cEMs/sec

other single client info: 3357924.1 cEMs/sec

so to me it looks like its giving me the points..

So you have the GUI client installed twice? I tried installing it in two different folders but one install overwrites the other. According to the SoB forums it has to run as a service.

nah i installed it twice.. when i went to install it asked what folder and i just added a 2 to the end of it.. then changed the files in the folder with a 2 at the end of them as well.. so in the task manager it opens as SB2.exe and the other one is SB.exe

but i paused one of the clients just to see if my points rate drops..

If each folder has a file named something like z3036870 and those files are different from each other it's probably working for you.

you might be right because after 2 1/2 hours its still showing my Work rate at 785.65 K cEMs/sec.. by now it should of dropped.. so ill try installing them as services and see what happens..

For those of us Sieving for both PSP and 17oB, we have a new tool for submitting factors:

http://www.sierpinskisieve.com/submit.php

This is brand new and needs testing but should work fine. However, please continue to also submit to each project as well for now. Once enough testing is done, this tool can probably replace submitting to both sites separately making it much more convenient. This is Matt's goal for creating this tool.

for the life of me i cant figure out how to get seventeen or bust to install as a service on windows xp.. anyone thats done this id appreciate some help because everything i found on their forum isnt working for me..

going to keep trying my self but if i dont get it by midnight tonight im going to dump seventeen or bust for a different project.. to much damn work just to get mathematics client working that has no scientific purpose..

SoB credit info is a bit off right now. I wouldn't trust what your seeing. My total score today is less then yesterday.

Have you read the ReadMeNT.txt file in the SB directory?
It talks about running as a service there.

Still waiting..... :D

You may have to suspend your other clients for a few minutes to get the Simap downloads to kick in then resume your other clients. I had to do that. Got 2 machines with over 60 wu between them crunching away.. :D

There's 3 blocks of 50,000 wu each in this go round. The next round after this starts in March.

Thanks for the heads up on SIMAP. The WU seem pretty quick (1-2 hours each on a 2GHz C2D).

I've also got a sudoku unit that's run for 84.5 hours, with 184 left to go.

yup and none of it works.. just opens a command prompt for a fraction of a second and does nothing.. but i think im done with it.. going to work on some other projects that atleast have a realistic purpose..

If you did it right, the cmd promt opens for a sec and installs the service. You then have to go to admin tools/services and start the service.

No, the work finally came a little bit after I made that post. It had been saying "no jobs available."

Wow. So we are to #39 in a little more than a month of work here. I don't remember the position we were in when this started, but I believe it was in the 140s. Congrats on a huge ramp here Commandos. We need to keep the work up though. Nothing less than the top ten will be acceptable for the [H]ard Commandos.

ahh ok.. maybe later ill screw with it.. right now doing WCG, SIMAP, and cosmology on boinc right now.. probably do that for a week and then do something else..

btw i think we started at like 150 or something.. it was pretty high..

also there is a new beta client for the rc5-72 client..

if only my pos m2n-sli board actually worked i could use my HD4870.. god ill never buy a nvidia chipset board again.. only card that will work in that system is on my 7300GT which has no video bios.. so the board cant see its there so it luckly still works.. if i put my 4870 or 8800GT in it wont boot..

yeah I have a Sudoku unit thats at 198 hours currently and the estimated time left is 322 hours and rising. If I read correctly on their forums it will upload after 10 days (240 hours) of processing whether its done or not. Well see in another couple days if thats the case or not.

Neato! I have been chosen as the Spinhenge @home user of the day!
My profile will be featured on the website for the next 24 hours.

oh great.. now razor gets to gloat some more... how much did you have to pay them for that? :p

welp since the rc5 and boinc client dont seem to be playing nice with each other when it comes to who gets what cpu.. i put my 8800GT back on F@H for some lucky person on the team since i no longer fold for my self anymore..

It was 123, not too far from my first guess of 126. I just happened to notice it mentioned in the early posts of this thread. :D

We are now up to #37!

I'm sure the wall is getting steeper, bit it seems that we just keep adding horsepower

Had EON running on 3 machines today and all 3 finally got (after a few hours) the .dll file it says its missing when you first start it, and even did 7 units and returned them (I can see that in the statistics on EON's website, user name "razorfxii"), so I asked it to send me my new password and it said it did but I haven't received it yet so...I'll wait for that and when I get it try to log in and set up our team.

Edit: I sent them an e-mail asking them to send me a login password so I can set up our team and gave links to our site and forum as well as told them a little bit about us and asked them to help us help them, so we will see if I get a reply and a password.

The Lattice Project has about 20k new work units available - get em while they last.:D

These new GARLI units are running much more friendly than the last batch. Using a bit less memory and progress estimating appears to be working better as well. I am currently crunching 9 of them.

We just had a huge bump in SZTAKI points, which should be good for the Vault.

If you compare our team score with the total points for the WUs we've finished, they don't add up. Apparently the admins have been going in and manually assigning points to people that worked on the huge WUs but didn't get points because too many other people had errors. That's how I shot up from 1000 points to 4000 points, and I think the same thing happened for alan2308. I'm still not sure how everything is supposed to add up, but I'm not complaining about the extra points. (I could probably figure out more if I could read Hungarian. ;) )

BTW, they seem to have fixed a lot of issues as well, and most of the SZTAKI units I've gotten recently have been relatively small.

lol set majestic-12 to use my entire connection.. im catching up to you razor :p should catch up to you here in the next couple days.. doing about 1.8 million urls a day :p
