DC Fantasy Nascar

Who retired last season?

Do I need to know something about NASCAR to succeed at this? ;)

Talk about old school ---

When I was a kid (a long time ago!)

I watched Buddy Baker race Richard Petty at the Ontario Motor Speedway!

I think it was called the Ontario 500.

Hey Rich

Do you want Jeff Gordon or not?

Hey OSUguy

you are a little bit short staffed on your race squad.

Hey Rich!

I'm ready to trade!

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- For the second year in row, rules violations in Daytona 500 qualifying have resulted in a stiff penalty for the crew chiefs held responsible.

Four crew chiefs were suspended and fined Tuesday by NASCAR and will be absent from Sunday's race barring an unlikely successful appeal.
Kenny Francis and Robbie Reiser, crew chiefs for Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth, respectively, were suspended for four races and fined $50,000 each. The teams also were docked 50 driver and owner points, which essentially means they start the season in the hole.
Both teams' qualifying times were disallowed Sunday, when unapproved aerodynamic modifications in the rear wheel wells and oil tank areas were discovered during post-qualifying inspection.
Alterations to the fasteners on the rear spoilers by two other teams were discovered in pre-qualifying inspection. The cars of Scott Riggs and Elliott Sadler were fixed before their qualifying runs so the times were allowed to stand.
But the crew chiefs did not get off scot-free. Rodney Childers (Riggs) and Josh Browne (Sadler) were suspended for two races, fined $25,000 and the teams were docked 25 driver and owner points.

Nascar has always had those that push the rules to the extreme, it's just as of late that the big money intrests investing in Nascar are making it grow up to police itself better and better.

And sometimes they really slam down hard just to get the point across so that everyone backs off and plays more fairly. If they were really getting mean they would of waited until the end of the season and slammed the top drivers for various infractions and turned the points race on it's head.

they have been known to do that, ;)

besides, it makes good press to blow something up this way right before the race. :D

Just my twelve cents worth.

Yep you can kiss Mikey's season buh-bye.

Let's not forget, DW won his 500 in a 1/75th scale car. ;)

There wasn't such a thing as cheating in NASCAR, just pushing the envelope.

I guess competing with the NFL now is going to continue to change that.

Just let 'em race!!! :D

indirectly..... Now that ESPN, Fox and NBC all have their hand in the telecasts.... That, and the whole "race for the cup" falls during most of the NFL regular season

Keep on Folding!! For the [H]orde!!

And they are now the number 2 sport in terms of ratings and attendence with the NFL.

Make no mistake, they are competing. France wants to beat them.

*conf* beat them in what? And why is a country competing with a sport? Is the American public really that interested in competitive wine making?

I think France wins for being the biggest horse's ass in the world. Germany was vying for the title, but France won by a landslide.

Brian France, head of NASCAR. The France family basically created the sport, not the country. :p

Make sure to set your rosters before Sunday.

Actually they were winning but decided to capitulate and just gave up even after being told that they won

And No I wasnt talking about racing. If that was the case you would have seen me say something like "blah blah blah Richard Petty blah blah blah blah Dale Earnheart(sp) blah blah blah" as that would be about as much as I know about NASCAR

OK now that the season is about to start, Here it is, smack talk, smack talk, smack talk, smack talk, smack talk,

You have all been officially smack talked.... :D

By ther way, the Daytona 500 is on a none satallite channel, I don't get regular TV signals at my house, something about this big rock in the way. :(

So how did the race go.
