DC Commando Give Away!

I'm seriously considering dumpng FAH and moving the rigs in sig to BOINC, but I haven't decided yet.

That's some serious firepower and the Commandos would be glad to have you.

Yeah, i'm doing some hard thinking. 105 million points with FAH is kinda tough to walk away from, but part of me really doesn't like the way FAH here on [H] has been going.

And the [H]orde would miss you...

Honestly So am I... but I have not found any projects that I like better inside of boinc...
While the more control looks nice and I will dabble on the side... not sure either...

Not really impressed with the lack of smp ability on the projects either...

I've got 4 quads at the house now (wow, that just hit home..) May move a couple over for BOINC to try it out.

I found out that my X6 loves Muon and ECM stats. Maybe I should turn everything off but those 2, I shall let it ride out over the weekend and see. Gotta try to get the most out of what you have right?

I am giving away a Diamond 6950 1 GB video card. All you have to do is run BOINC under the [H]ard|OCP banner from 15 Nov 2011 to 15 December 2011 and contribute 100k points to the project yoyo@home. Post your BOINC name in the contest thread: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?p=1037974873#post1037974873
Points must be contribute between 15 Nov and 15 Dec. Points prior to that are not acceptable.

I will take a screenshot of all team members on 14 Nov with their points.

Post questions in this thread.

Will ship for free to entries from lower 48 states. All others must pay shipping.

Soo.... as long as I put >100k in the pot between those two dates... does it matter if I have my rigs off over thanksgiving break?

even with just my octo I should be good for >240k pts but I plan on letting harbringer do a few days....it should do 80k/day or so...

As long as you get 100K points in yoyo@home (for the [H] of course) between 15 Nov and 15 Dec you have met the requirements for the giveaway.

I'm liking this, at the moment, i'm putting up bigger number then Patriot ;) I know its not going to last long! ;p

....my 6904 is at 94%...15:23 tpf ... have not decided how many cores to go boinc...

/patriot reduced flag from -smp 48 to 12

I just started on this a couple of days ago.

Stats have been baselined for yoyo@home and the contest begins!!

Good luck to all entered and all of those yet to enter.

[H] now has the highest yoyo output in the past week, and that's without the extra D coming online and fully up to speed. (Five new users from Nov 4 to now and plenty of room for more!)

Here's a graph which shows [H] vs the current (soon to be former) average production champ. Notice the sharp upswing at the start of November. Beautiful.

This link is definitely worth clicking now. That line should continue upwards, [H] is currently doubling up anyone and everyone.

Well thanks for crunching for the Horde no matter if you fold or do any other project. If you are looking for other medical projects to dabble in besides F@H there are several others that I feel are quite good. Docking@home, Malaria Control Project, and GPUGrid are all good projects. Also the WCG runs several different projects and is probably the biggest BOINC project. It has several medical projects that you might like (there is a new malaria project, a couple researching cancer, and a even a human Proteome Folding project).

If it is not too much trouble, can you post what our scores were when you baselined them?

I also wanted to give a heads up to people if youre watching your BOINC manager that it's not unusual for a few of the Evolution units to run over 100% completion. I just let it run through and they seem to finish and submit just fine...

At what point am I supposed to worry about over 100% completion on Muon?

Fantastic effort guys with a couple of teams having already fallen prey to the push. It's great to see so many new names dipping their toe in the yoyo water :)

That looks very much like a work unit failure. BOINC units often run at 100% for a while before completing but any % over that typically means things have gone pear shaped. Muon (within yoyo) has been pretty reliable for me so far with only the occasional failure after a reboot.

Unfortunately, it may be best to abort that one.

somehow you cant actually see anything, can you post it on imgur, and post the link? Looks like I have around 30k there, if that is me, in that case, I'll be done by the end of the weekend, with 1 computer! Don't worry I'll keep going but probably reduce the amount of CPUs.

Just waiting on the daily driver to finish up a 6904, then I'll be switching it over to yoyo...

First I wanted to say thanks for the contest.

This is my first time running BOIC and just got into DC this year. I wanted to know if I will see any adverse effects of running yoyo@home on SMP while running folding@home on my GPU? I was running SMP and GPU with folding@home and they seemed to have no effect on each other. Just wondering if yoyo@home is different.

I have a Q6600 @ 3Ghz and a GTX 275 in windows 7.

The Nvidia gpus use little cpu time when folding. I don't think you'll see much of an impact on your yoyo@home effort.

Man you guys are rocking yoyo@home. Top producing team currently I see.

Dammit! DeFex passed me! Must get more D!
just cruising along with half my CPU cores on one machine, now, don't make me change it back to 24. its not cold enough outside yet.
on the bright side(for you) ill be off to WCG soon :) only 1 computer doing this now, but its a good one.

yeah I just had a 2ghz amd octo running it on and off... I am just shy of 100k now....

I be firing up WCG for the december contest

I didn't have time to mess with why the client didn't want to run on harbringer...or I would have hit the 100k in a 2-3 days ....

Well my graph is slowly rising. Should make the 100k with 5 days to spare.

12 days left. If there are any heavy hitters out there you could do your 100K and qualify for the drawing with no probs.

dope....I missread my starting point and switched to wcg 2k early... running another 8 wu then switching to wcg again....oops...

Need a sticky on Currently active dc projects so we know where the commandos are all active...

Well I made it to the 100k.

Then I made the mistake today of setting Boinc to only us 25% and now my room is freezing cold. I guess winter came while this competition was going on. Time to up it back near 100%:D

I have had to turn mine off for a bit for rendering, but i think i did enough so far :)

I'm in the same boat just not for rendering, I have some work related things that I need to get done then I will turn it back on when not gaming again. I think I did like 200K though.
