Well...it will be on my list of 1 million point goals anyways...so once there is work...probably have a few cores on it.

Oh great ... Math in a box ... sounds like fun and lots grey hair. Give it shot when home on weekend

VBox is going to limit most of my rigs since I don't have VBox installed on them.

This project currently has work. Get it while it's still available. I got a bunch today myself.

Yeah I got a bunch of tasks also. Gonna be a long road to 1M on this one.

Also, make sure to post usage stats in here for others. Like Ram usage, OS, run times, etc... I've not ran any yet so it may be useful for others jumping in. Also, if there is a required version of virtualbox, let me know. I've not been online much due to surgery today.

Here is some info on the WU's I received yesterday:

1) All of my machines are running VB 5.2.16 and Windows 10 Pro x64.
2) Each WU required ~1.8GB of memory while running and ran as Multi-Threaded with 2 threads each (this was the default - I didn't change anything).
3) My TR's and Intel Coffee Lake CPU are much faster than my Intel Haswell CPU's on these WU's.
4) Noticed that CPU usage is low on my Intel Haswell machines with these WU's running (4670K, 4770K, 4790K were at only ~68% CPU usage when fully loaded up with these WU's, unsure about the TR's or 8700K).
5) A couple of the WU's errored out before completion, but the rest completed and validated successfully.

Run times (hh:mm):
i5-4670K@4.0GHz: ~3:28
i7-4770K@Stock: ~3:55
i7-4790K@Stock: ~3:37
i7-8700K@4.7GHz: ~0:57
TR 1950X@Stock: ~1:04
TR 2950X@Stock: ~1:00

bok over at Free-DC made a comment in the WUProp forums that the computers returning successful work right now all have AVX2 while others without are mentioning work failing. Can anyone confirm this?

My haswell xeon (AVX2) runs ok with no error but not the ivy bridge (AVX) where all tasks were returning errors, so I stopped running it. Both are on Windows 7 with vbox 5.2.x. Maybe that's the reason.

I can't say for sure, as all of my CPU's support AVX2 and I only had a couple (out of a few hundred) WU's error out.

I posted this issue in the DBN forum.

The admin posted on BOINCStats saying that he approves Willy adding the project. He also confirmed the need of AVX2 there as well as the Virtualbox/RAM requirements.

The project has now been added to BOINCStats and you can now add it to BAM!
