Day Dream VR

Anyone get the Day Dream VR headset from Google or similar knock off?

My Axon 7 finally got a nouget update and its now capable of Day Dream and I am debating wasting 50 bucks for the headset. But from what I am reading it may be fun for all of 15 minutes before I stick in a drawer and forget about it.

I've only played with the Gear VR and was underwhelmed by it. Even a 2K display isn't good enough for VR; it's still like looking through a screen door. Plus it just burns up your phone and murders the battery while using it.

Phones don't make good VR solutions, IMO. It's definitely just a novelty thing at this point.

I don't even play with my HTC Vive VR. Like I used it like 5 times, and I was among the first to receive it.
