Hey guys, attempting to use GetDataBack for NTFS to recover some files off a drive that already had a new OS installed on it.

The files identified are 254159 starts, 0 usrdef
MFT entries: 2054372, 51 $MFT

What does the 0 usrdef mean? I'm specifically trying to recover pictures, so they would all be .jpg or .png files.
 
Not sure about the program you mentioned but I have used: http://www.r-studio.com/
whenever I needed to recover data and it has worked flawlessly every time.

It's really easy to use as well. I have retrieved data from formatted hard drives, new Windows installations, etc.

Recuva works well and is totally free. There are two search types:

For deleted files, use the default settings.

For files that were not deleted (like failed partition or windows reinstall) check the box to scan for non-deleted files.
