real simple question. i don't know how or why it happened, but XP instead of formatting my OS partition formatted the entire drive it was on (104 gigabytes deleted). it was just a quick format though so i'm not too worried. i have used r-studio to scan and tree all of the data. i have two hard drives, one is for my OS/games/anime/crap, and my D drive which has 20 gb free.
my question is - i know it's a horrible idea to recover your data directly back onto the same drive due to it corrupting the unrecovered data sectors, so.. my option is to gradually move it all to D drive, then back to C. so: will doing this cause problems? will it move the recovered data into the 'right' sectors, or over some unrecovered-as-of-yet data sectors and cause corruption? i am guessing that it's OK to do it gradually like this, but i take no chances when it comes to this much data.
thanks a lot!
