Data ports disabled if using Nvme slots

Think ill stick to my sata drives I had no idea that two sata ports are disabled when just using one Nvme drive. Eventually all MB makers will eliminate sata ports.

You only have so many PCIe lanes. We have been pointing this out in motherboard reviews for a long time.

that's why i purposefully bought boards with plx chips.

i'd rather have too many lanes than not enough.

too bad no one who makes x3-470 boards wants to do that anymore.

You're confusing NVMe and M.2. You only lose SATA ports if you're using a SATA M.2 drive.
