Data in Visual Studio?

Hey,

I want to write data management program in VS C++ . It'll deal with tables of data, kinda like you would in mysql/php. What is the common data storage solution for standalone apps? (i.e. self contained)
 
If flatfile doesn't do the trick, access does. You don't need access installed or anything of the sort to use programs that use an access database last time I checked.
