I'm in the process of ripping movies onto my hard drive and most of them take up to 3 gigabytes.
Is there any way to make them smaller? I've tried to add them to an archive with winrar and winzip but the file stays at roughly 3 gigs.

I'll toss in another vote for DVDShrink. Works great and very easy to use.

Also, visit Doom 9 for all your DVD backup needs.
