Just watched that episode this morning, it was a decent action scene. I'd still consider the first season's hallway scene superior, that scene felt like it was shot all in one shot (which it apparently was), whereas the stairwell fight was broken up a lot more.

I liked the long fight scene better, though I do think the season 1 scene was shot a better since it was one take (or, at least appeared to be). The season 2 scene was a lot more brutal though and there were a few points where I was wincing just from how painful it looked. It showed a nice advancement of Daredevil's skills and just how badass he can be.

I am I think 5 or 6 episodes into this season. I think it is very good so far. That stair well scene was a good fight, watching people get chain wiped :)

No, it wouldn't, and it seems like they did plenty of Punisher fight scenes to me, even if none were quite as long or involved as the stairwell/corridor fight - too many if I wasn't willing to accept that this is essentially his origin story and so he wouldn't be quite as good at punishing before/without getting into hand-to-hand range.

there's an 6 minute fight scene between the punisher and daredevil on the rooftops while the cops are shooting at them from the rooftops on the other side of the street in the second episode. but yeah there was plenty of fight scenes between the punisher and daredevil.

There was one scene in this episode (if I recall) where The Punisher reloaded his AR with an empty p-mag.

Probably shouldn't use windowed p-mags if you aren't going to use dummy bullets. Just saying.

    ROFL! Nice catch!
During my first watch, it looks like at least half of the scene was in a single shot. Either way, you gotta give credit to the actors, stuntmen, and choreographers (and the camera crew, too)--filming that must have been absolutely exhausting!

I'm currently on episode 6. So far I actually think it's better than the first season, in some ways.

I'm only up to episode 5 but I am really enjoying this season. Jon Bernthal makes a great punisher (and I really hope they go forward with a Punisher series).

This seasons hallway fight is not as good as the original OB fight scene imo or the protector's one shot fight scene ( )

Dumbest idea for a superhero ever. Superhero instead of being incredibly strong, flexible, durable, or being able to fly or something is handicapped. But its OK, because his other senses are heightened (of course, this is why blind people drive cars a lot), so he creates a supersuit for himself in which he completely covers his ears up with thick leather. No, really.

I facepalmed so hard, I think I hurt myself. I can't wait until he has a sidekick whose superpower is that he's in a wheelchair and can go down hills really fast, and whose only weakness is stairs.

....I don't think you watched the show or read the comics...

    1. He was blinded by a substance that in turn give him his powers, it wasn't simply a normal "blinding." He's not simply a "normal blind" person, but has actual powers from that.
    2. He doesn't create the suit. It's designed by Melvin Potter, aka The "Gladiator."
    3. He was trained by "Stick" and is a well versed master in many martial arts.

Seymour sees through your troll ruse, ducman!

And yeah, this version of Punisher has been great. I don't know if I'd want to see a series devoted to him though. Not sure if his 'kill everything' shtick could hold up his own series.

As an occasional character he's great.

Agreed. I think Punisher works best when he has someone to work off of that can be a counter to him. That is one of the reasons none of the Punisher movies have worked. I feel the same about him in comics as well. I don't like the Punisher solo comics, but when he's with someone like Deadpool, Spidy, and so on he works better. I could see him working as a guest star in the rest of the Defenders series. He'd work off Luke Cage well. I could see him and Danny Rand clashing a lot. Jessica Jones interacting with him would be interesting, or just seeing him deal with the entire Defenders team in that series. As his own though? Eh, I don't see it working.

Have you guys read the Garth Ennis Punisher stories? Welcome back Frank, Born, the entire Max run was pretty good and I think would be great material to base his own series off of, of course a few tweaks to fit it in the timeline he's in.

Yep. Ducman69 obviously hasn't seen any of the comics or even season 1 of Daredevil. Daredevil sees the world better than most, in a way that could only be superhuman. In season 2, they are expanding his powers. He has electromagnetic senses (he can see camera's and hidden switches) and a sense that is almost akin to x-ray vision. I don't know if it's some advanced hearing or if he can literally see that objects are empty or full.

Also. Daredevil's costume does not have leather over his ears. He has what looks like nylon fabric covering them as part of the costume. The helmet itself is most certainly not leather either. Melvin Potter explains a few times what it's made of. In this stairwell fight scene, you are actually seeing a patch job across his forehead due to a bullet to the head.

    S1E5: World on Fire.

This is just an idea of what he sees.

Lol at Mr. Stick. He's exactly like Daredevil. Probably has the same powers. He's also a huge asshole and his little war seems to be the underlying plot to everything going on in the Daredevil and Punisher universe.

As far as Punisher. They finally did him justice. 2 shit movies, and 1 mediocre one (2004 w/ Thomas Jayne). He's finally getting a decent showing. He's the fucking Terminator in this show. I hope he gets his own show, even if its 1 season. Cordless drill to his legs and feet and he still manages to get up, stumble across a room and beat the ever-loving shit out of his captors before blasting their faces at point blank with a shot gun.

I have not. Actually, I think the only Garth Ennis stuff I've read was a few Preacher comics years ago. A bunch of his stuff is on my "I really need to read" list.

The Punisher fight-scene (in the prison) in "Seven Minutes in Heaven" was the best.

Don't forget the part where after all the drilling he pulls a straight razor out that he embedded in his arm specifically for this scenario.

you just know they were all fucked.

in what way, seems pretty solid except for the clearly bullshit everyone has good in them speech. think you could use that keyboard and maybe type out a coherent sentence?

pretty hard to suspend my disbelief with this. His arm would be ripped to shreds.

I definitely like this season but the rooftop discussion was my favorite so far. (only seen up to 5 ep so far). Clearly the punisher is the less hypocritical of the 2. I am a bit tired of the whole everyone has good in them bullshit hero line. This is so clearly insane. these guys that the punisher is killing are clearly horrible people and the thought that DD can defend these people is just fucking stupid.

Seems like the post your quoted was coherent enough. I think the word you were looking for, was "examples".

-Literally every episode contained obscenely long speeches that essentially repeated themselves. Karen, Daredevil, and Frank were the worst offenders.

-The entire Hand storyline. Want to know the whole story? No problem, just catch Iron Fist! And maybe Jessica Jones season 2!

I can keep going, if you'd like.

well, your post was more of a "me no like, DD horrible" kind of grammar without any further details.

but I agree, I feel like the DD character isn't really growing and just stuck in his child like mindset that everyone can be redeemed.

The tinyest glimmer of hope is that he put the arms seller away after he said he couldn't go back to jail. good on him.

the more i think about it, the more hypocritical DD seems when comparing this scene to the others. Look at this guy who you just put away, is out on probation and selling arms on the black market almost as soon as he is out. I'm not saying he should kill him, but I see punishers point of view.

I have to re-watch that scene. I thought he had it hidden between the bandage and his skin.

just watched it yesterday and during the whole scene that's what I thought, but its clear it takes it from deep inside his arm, which is nuts because he was fighting. He would have bled out or lost the use of his hand a long time ago.

I'll need to re-watch the episode,
but I had thought at the beginning of the episode is when he deposited the blade (when he was stitching himself up), and had anticipated being captured to get to the Irish ringleader (after witnessing his workshop being raided).
I'm not done the season yet, but I'll be back here after to talk impressions.

Season 1 hallway fight was much better IMO. The fight scenes in general were better in season 1...one of the first things I noticed
