Daniel Craig Would Rather Kill Himself Than Play James Bond Again

Connery was the best overall, but I did enjoy Craig's personal demons. The two are night and day personality wise, but that's fine with me.
 
Sean Connery was the best Bond, nobody else comes close. I still have no idea how they cast Daniel Craig for the role?
 
I must say that i also agree that Pierce Brosnan was a good Bond, just with terrible scripts.

Fassbender could be a decent Bond.
 
You know who would be a great James Bond? Bill Hammond playing Sean Connery playing James Bond would be solid. I can see it now.

The scripts were poor going back to most of Moore's films. The 70's Bonds were over the top camp-fests. I think they tried to re-level with 'for your eyes only' even ditching the spectre thing. But i think they decided they wanted to get rid of Moore so they let the scripts go to complete shit and it took 2 or 3 films and they were able to get their new bond, then a second new one, then another new one, ...
 
The next bond will be gay, black or transgendered.
Or all three. and a woman.
Jane Bond.

I don't really have any ideas about who should play the next Bond, but I really hope they don't try the PC thing and make him a woman. It's bad enough there are rumors about the next Doctor being one.

The next Doctor will almost certainly be a woman. There has been way too many hints towards that and even some setup for it. Funny thing is I know many female fans of the show and they all hate the idea of the Doctor being a woman.

As soon as James Bond becomes a time-traveling benevolent alien protector who can regenerate, then come talk to us about a female Bond.

I do agree with you. Pierce sadly got the shaft script wise. At least Goldeneye wasnt bad.

Skyfall had what Quantum and Casino both severely lacked in my opinion, which had been a staple in the series since the beginning: a strong, well written and well developed villian. To me, that is what made Skyfall the best Craig movie out of the three so far, even though I did find Casino more entertaining.

I thought TWINE was also decent, but I do think the scripts for the Brosnan films still held on to too much campiness from the Moore era. Die Another Day was just cringeworthy, nearly as much as A View to a Kill...

Agree completely. I think I'd cast my vote for Idris Elba over Tom Hardy, don't see Hardy having the same gravitas.
 
Casino Royale is a mess of a film. It didn't know what story it wanted to tell. There's like three movies in there. It's kinda entertaining...but it's a mess. QoS helped give it an ending...but it merely was an extension of a mess. So, it suffered for that too.

Now, I really liked Skyfall. Really liked it. It was the most complete Bond of the Craig era, and it wasn't a mess. It had clearly structured acts, and it had an ending! Hurray!

Having also seen him in The Wire and Lucifer... oh god, yes. Idris would be awesome. He'd have the suave AND gutsy parts of Bond down pat. It isn't about being PC and casting a black guy in a white role... dude is a fucking great actor and oozes Bond. He could do the role justice.
