which one should i get? there are a bunch (ac and dc)
ofcourse i am looking for something with decent power, but that's not the MAIN thing. my MAIN two factors are quietness and easy installation. some pump needs you to drill holes in ur cases (which i don't like) so i guess the easier mounting option, the better.

p.s: for 1/2 inch tubing.

p.s2: if i go all dangerden, but get a pump from another manufacturer, would it work? if so, any suggestions?

If you want quiet, the DDC-12V is the way to go. It's also light weight enough that you can mount it just about anywhere and anyway with adhesive-backed velcro. It does have 3/8" barbs, but all you need to do is stick a short piece of 3/8 on the barbs, then slip your 1/2" tubing over the top of that and clamp.

to answer your last question yes it would, DangerDen doesn't make the pumps anyways, they simply resell them. You can find all of the same pumps DD sells at other places as well if you really wanted. If you are thinking about getting a pump from somewhere else I would recommend the AQX-50Z, I think you can buy it over at cooltechnica.

with the ddc-12v, i'll need an adaptor to go with 1/2 inche

i have a question about these "adaptor" thingies. sure, they'll make 1/2 fit on 3/8, but wouldn't the fact that the pump is 3/8 slow down the performance of the entire wc system? it's like everything else wide, but the pump is thin so it restricts the water flow of the entire system?

That the pump is natively 3/8" makes no difference, it produced decent flow and exceptional pressure. Since you're thinking Danger Den, it's high head pressure would go well with the TDX (with the #4 or #5 nozzle).

hmm...i still don't quite understand.
this is what i am thinking right now.

if the pump is natively 3/8, and i fit it with 1/2 (with the help of adaptor), this situation is analogous to if i connect two big hoses together, but in between them add a very small hose. the small hose basically bottle necks the flow of the entire system??

unless of course the small peice of hose is what is pushing/pulling the water through the system, then it makes less difference.

I'm using a ddc-12v in my 1/2" setup and I love it. If all else fails, you can mod the ddc and give it nearly the same flow as its bigger brother with more head so the line size wont matter.

BUT to mount the ddc effectively, your ognna havta drill holes in your case because it is soo small. But thats not bad at all, just measure twice, cut once.

doesn't small mean i won't need to drill? since i can just sticky it ?

You can sticky it. I've got one stuck to the bottom of the drive cage with industrial-strength velcro.

ahh ok. never thought of velcrow on that... I was in the shop and the drills / taps / screws were right there.... Not to mention the pre-cut nepoprene pad on there that was just sexy
