I've always been a fan of DD products. Waiting patiently to see how the block performs. :)
 
...And its still an acrylic top. :( Sorry, but they become too brittle over time, and it sucks when they crack if you over tighten your barbs.

I have to admit the only reason I ordered it was so I could picture the inside without having to take it apart. I suggest all you guys by the acetal tops.
 
I have the older version. But it keeps my E8400 under 68C using IBT.

Too bad I have to sell the damn thing. Stupid 'Universal' top is practically touching my mosfets. :mad:

MC-TDX came out a little after the Fuzion V1. It's great for multi block systems because it's not too restrictive, but it still gets fairly good temps.
 
Big favor to ask of you Kyle. When you do your review of this block vs the koolance. Can you try them at different flowrates? I have a suspect you might have some interesting results.
 
Neato, is this the LGA1366 mounting one? If tested on i7 against the Koolance block on the Exos-2 I think it will be very close. The internals you posted of the Koolance block showed that they have made some changes. Also the Exos-2 will be a somewhat limiting factor in the test on an i7. Should be interesting :D
 
if you're that concerned about the plastic top, brass is only $8 more.

I've been running DD blocks for years and NEVER had one crack or become brittle. I've taken them apart 100 times and never had problems.

Also, just so people aren't confused, there's the TDX block, and the MC-TDX block top... The TDX came out 5 years ago (approx), the MC-TDX is a "multi core" block (all the pins inside provide better cooling over the original 1st gen TDX)

First off, each person has an opinion on the matter, and thats cool. Whats not cool is finding out that there were hair line cracks in your new acrylic block top, not seeing them, and later having the block dump fluid in your system.

While you may have had great success with Acrylic tops, I as well as many other experienced WCers have had opposite experiences. Other than the "bling" factor of seeing the fluid flow through, what does Acrylic have over Acetel or Copper tops?

I was responding more to this comment. You shouldn't insinuate that people are doing something wrong because it differs from your experience. Mine happended to be a defect that shipped from Danger Den. They replaced it under warranty, but it didn't save the components that ended up with fluid all over. It was my first and last time dealing with Acrylic. If it works for others great, but for my money, I'll go with a solid top. :D
 
I have used two different TDXs over the years and have had no problems with the acrylic tops... I am not ginger while torquing them down on the mobo really either.. I was hoping my socket 775 TDX would work with the x58 mobo I am getting... but I guess not. gah!

Agh, honestly, It cracked the day I received my Fuzion, so I just threw it out.

However, looking at the front of the block, the top right "arm" of the 775 mount cracked right along the top tapped barb hole.

And I would never take a solvent to acrylic ;)

I was just mounting the block like normal, it had seen 2 years of service with nothing but distilled water and 2% pentosin... It had developed small micro-fractures inside it upon inspection, but I'm lost as to how this could have happened (other than stress).
 
was it a 939 block or 775 block? Wish you kept it...weird. What you experienced is not common.
 
It was a 939 block that I retro-fitted with a 775 top. The 775 top ran for 2 years before it cracked.

No biggie though, It's in use in a friend's server with a modified jet (I re-purposed an old case buzzer top, made the hole bigger, and epoxied it in - Dropped temps 4c from the stock jet plate!)

I am sure DD would replace the top for you ;) heck i have a spare. . .
 
Haha, it's not a problem. I picked up a second 775 top for a few bucks and gave the block to a friend.
 
anyone seen any results on the MC-TDX 1366 yet? I just purchased 400 dollars worth of wc gear.. have basically everything buy a gpu block.. waiting for the fuzion to come out with a 1366 bracket or may go with this dd one if it gets good reviews.
