Danger Den Maze 4 for socket 939 performance

Anyone have experience with this block? If so how does it perform. I am about to go water cooling and someone has this block they will sell me. I want to buy components only once, so want to make sure this one is a decent performer and will work to provide a decent overclock. I was looking at the Copper TDX Block for Athlon64 754/939/940, but if the maze 4 performs similiar, then I will go ahead and purchase that one.

the maze 4 is pretty old and out dated, at this point. if you're really trying to save as much as you can, okay, it's an option. there are other areas to save on your loop, that don't have such a negative effect on performance.

tick off the DD maze 4, swiftech MCW6002, DD TDX and little river storm G4 (now called the swiftech storm) to get a look at how the maze 4 performs against some poplular modern blocks.

With your current setup, get the Storm .. you can't pass on the BEST w/c solution

just a small oc havent overclocked it majorly

If I were you I would definitely go with the TDX block hands down. I have one myself and my proc is clocked at 2.89ghz w/ 1.55v. The temps are 27C idle - 36 load.

and you have just nicely illustrated my point: my 3000, with a small overclock from 1.8 to 2.1 on stock air, doesn't top 40 under load.

i have my pelt solution down until i have some time to resolve a few issues.

as compared to air cooling, on a low heat processor like a single core a64, the maze 4 is not worth going to water, in most cases.

but theres the geek factor of having a water cooled system
my temps on air are about the same except my video card is about 10c warmer on air
but i just like having a watercooled system

my maze4 works great... 1.6vcore 2.4Ghz 100% load doesn't get above 39c in a 73f room....of course...the hotter the room the hotter the temp...but my house stays at 70 or so..

doesn't do that bad...but the storm is better :/

you're right, it doesn't do that bad. neither does a good air cooler.
